I stay at the St. Julien regularly on business, frequently extending the trips for a little fun. This place is beautiful and is aging with a lovely patina. Beds are comfortable, rooms are elegant, bathrooms are gorgeous, the views very nice. It truly is the only place I want to stay in Boulder.
Now to the not so good. In general, Boulder does not offer much in the way of helpful, professional service. The St. Julien clearly tries, but it also suffers, I believe, as a result of its work force. While everyone is generally nice, there is always something just weirdly missed. Whether its finding anyone to bring you a drink, menu, food at the restaurant/bar or finding your room doesn't quite have the mini bar filled or is missing a towel. Never a big deal, but just odd considering how lovely the hotel is.
They also host a few too many parties that I assume are CU related. I've noticed that furniture has been reduced in suites...I assume due to damage. I have heard the parties before, and to the hotels credit when I finallly complained at around 2 am, they shut it down.
Overall, this is still the absolute best place in Boulder!
