After reading reviews about Tandoori Grill here on TripAdivsor (thanks, everyone!), I decided to give this place a try, even though the location did not really appeal to me. I was very happy I adhered to your advice!
The place has a feeling of a wonderful restaurant, without too much India kitch - but just enough to get the point across. The wait staff are all professionally dressed in black, helping to distinguish them from the customers. The bar is extensive, with some unique offerings! I was seated in the booth area, which was rather loud, despite the rest of the big restaurant being quiet. I perhaps should have requested to move to a softer area, but I did not want to inconvenience the staff, and my seat was by the kitchen, allowing me to glance at the orders coming out (which I love to do). I had the most amazing waitress, who sent my request of duck prepared in the tandoor to the chef. Furthermore, I placed an order of kheer, and she suggested the rose malai instead. I had never had rose malai, and it was such a pleasant surprise, and a wonderful alternative to the kheer. My tamarind duck came with rice and a scrumptious mushroom curry! I also ordered parathas (instead of naan), and the tandoor preparation was light and flavorful! All of this food, along with a specialty cocktail ended up being a pretty penny ... however, the waitress did not blink an eye when a friend decided to stay with me for dinner in a rather impromptu, yet welcome manner! Everyone was super nice, professional, and the food is definitely worth the money! However, I will probably order less the next time I'm there! (Tamarind duck, paratha, rose malai, mango bacardi lassi, and a glass of wine = $54 INCLUDING a 20%+ tip.)
GO HERE! You will not be disappointed!
