We ordered a bunch of different sushi plates and rolls to sample a wide variety of food at the restaurant. The edamame was cold, which was unexpected, but still tasted good! The rainbow roll was excellent and you simply MUST try the Z-No 9!
After filling up on sushi and warming up with sake, you are a short stumble to some really good Boulder bars.

On a recent trip to Boulder, we decided to check out Sushi Zanmai after I read that it was one of the best sushi restaurants in Boulder. Being a huge sushi fan, I think I built it up a bit in my head before we went. We went on a Sunday night, which is sushi happy hour all night. They have discounts and specials on the food all evening. Try the soft shell crab spring roll if you like that kind of thing- yummy! The atmosphere is fun and festive. There were five separate groups celebrating birthdays while we were there. The lights are turned down and the disco ball spins while the staff sings a unique version of "Happy Birthday". Apparently, it is also one of the most popular places to have a birthday celebration in town. Overall, the food and the service were pretty good and I would recommend Sushi Zanmai. Be careful if you're on a budget thought- lots of small dishes and sushi rolls can add up fast!
