On a recent trip to Boulder, we decided to check out Sushi Zanmai after I read that it was one of the best sushi restaurants in Boulder. Being a huge sushi fan, I think I built it up a bit in my head before we went. We went on a Sunday night, which is sushi happy hour all night. They have discounts and specials on the food all evening. Try the soft shell crab spring roll if you like that kind of thing- yummy! The atmosphere is fun and festive. There were five separate groups celebrating birthdays while we were there. The lights are turned down and the disco ball spins while the staff sings a unique version of "Happy Birthday". Apparently, it is also one of the most popular places to have a birthday celebration in town. Overall, the food and the service were pretty good and I would recommend Sushi Zanmai. Be careful if you're on a budget thought- lots of small dishes and sushi rolls can add up fast!
