My wife and I went to see the Victor Wooten band at the Boulder Theater. The show was world-class, as expected, however the venue was 1 notch higher than a skid-row crack house. It's touted as being an "art-deco" masterpiece, but it's glory faded long ago. There was only seating at the few tables on the 3rd and 4th tier. Other than that, we had to stake our claim along a railing and ended up standing for the almost 3 hour show. The floor was sticky, the restrooms were less than clean and the whole place just looked shabby. I would recommend that theater management institute a "no smoking of questionable chemicals" policy. If someone would have lit up a cigarette, they would have been shown the door. But it appeared to be perfectly acceptable to pass around a crack/hash-pipe. Oh, and don't forget the hidden service charge when you order your tickets. Overall, the show was world-class and totally enjoyable. It's just a shame that we had to see Victor and his band in a 3rd class rat-hole of a venue.
