We were looking for a nice, moderately priced hotel in Boulder, and we just that. It is certainly nicer than most Marriotts I've stayed at before. It's about a 15 minute walk downtown, but it was good excercise. The room had a bit of a smell to it (disinfectant or something), but that was really the only negative. They had excellent bedding, large bathroom, and a Starbucks in the lobby. Just what we were looking for.
Stayed here for 2 nights While not the Four Seasons, it was a perfectly good stay and I would definitely stay there again.
Most impressive was the fact that we showed up at 9AM (I had a meeting and had to deposit my husband someplac for a couple of hours) and they let us check in. Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful .. the front desk, the bellman, the people in the lounge.
I stayed for 4 nights during student move in - late August. Beautiful room on 4th floor with super view. Superior, friendly staff. Good food, good (small) concierge lounge, good service at the coffee bar/bar, great location. I was checking out Boulder for a home base in the future and the Marriott wins hands down.
We stayed at the Boulder Marriott during the Colorado Shakespeare Festival in early August 2006 and really enjoyed the property. I have stayed in Marriotts all over the world, and this one was, as others have noted, smaller and more intimate than a typical full-service Marriott. That is not to say the rooms were smaller -- they were a great size and had really good views.
We stayed here for four nights -- my husband and me and our fifteen-month-old son. My mom stayed just across the hall (the desk helped us get our rooms close to each other) for two nights. We ordered room service (I would rate it as sub-standard because out of three meals ordered, two had incorrect items), used the concierge lounge (small, but decent), visited the in-house coffee bar/real bar (service was a little slow, but, they were very nice).
The location of this Marriott in Boulder is not conducive to walking to Pearl Street, but, parking at Pearl Street is not a problem. However, the location is fabulous for getting to main roads that take you to Denver and to visit the Rocky Mountain National Park. It took us about an hour to get to the Park, and about half an hour to get to downtown Denver. We also visited Breckenridge -- that took a good hour and a half.
In summary -- we had a very pleasant, relaxing time at this Marriott. The service was decent (if not a little slow) and the facilities are very nice.
