“Another Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

This is my second review of this hotel and both my husband and I continue to be impressed with this hotel, service, restaurant, and location. We dined twice at JW's restaurant and were very, very pleased with the service and food. Though the menu was not extensive, the offerings we selected were excellent. The hotel location is within easy walking distance to many shops. One of my favorites (and I am the wife in this married relationship and AARP age) is the family owned McGuckin Hardware next door.

I love the small, one-off hotels, but sometimes, a chain can produce something wonderful. Boulder Marriott is perfectly located near a variety of restaurants and stores, offers wonderful beds (great night's sleep on the first night). And the hotel includes a nice cozy bar and a place to grab breakfast. But what sets it apart is the people. Maybe it's Boulder, but everyone was so warm and friendly, willing to help you with whatever your challenge might be. They anticipate your needs and are ambassadors for their town. Get a room with a view of the mountains if you can . Option to get hypo-allergenic pillows. Products in the room are great and it all translates to a relaxing experience, even on a business trip.

Room Tip: If you want a view of the mountains, make sure to ask. (I looked over the IHOP, but wasn't that...

Rooms very clean and good amenities, staff overall friendly, but pricey for what you get. Also, no one has mentioned they charge $15 for Internet-- what hotels do that anymore? And a few reviews mention it's ten to park; it's now $12. And they do not tell you about the free options right next door. So with these two extra charges, you are in another almost 30 dollars a day. And what's this w/all the free cookies and snax? Never saw any of it, nor did front desk tell us about it. Just don't seem to have it all together there in terms of treating each customer as special. You have to be "in the know" I guess.

This has more than I expected -- and less than expected at the same time.

More -- very nice welcome on a Saturday, concierge lounge closed, but offered a free appetizer and one drink voucher. On Sunday morning, while concierge was "closed" it did open for 2 hrs and served a breakfast -- a nice treat!

This hotel would be great in the warmer weather, nice patios and balconies.

Less -- much farther from pedestrian mall than suggested by other reviews...far too far to walk, also had to go through some dicey areas. There is an efficient cab line downtown (10 one way for 2) and the hotel will call a cab for you to get there...but hadn't planned on having to add $20 to my dinner tab.

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at the Boulder Marriott. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity host you here in the near future. Also, there are many great dinner options within walking distance of the Boulder Marriott that are not located on the pedestrian mall. Please check with our staff for closer selections next time you are in the area. Thanks again!

I stayed one night at the Boulder Marriott in January 2013. There were no surprises. This is a standard full-service Marriott. My stay was entirely satisfactory with no notable shortcomings or remarkable features or services.

The hotel is located near the northern edge of the university campus and is a convenient place to stay if that is your destination.
