I have celebrated my birthday in the Oak with 5 other people, and been back for lunch afterwards. I've tried many items on the menu, all got great marks for taste and originality, except for my roasted chicken which I though was bland and overcooked. Just my bad luck I guess. The fried pickles were interesting but not outstanding, I liked other appetizers more. The homemade pasta dishes were outstanding, probably best I've tried in Boulder. Another reason I don't give this restaurant 5 starts is the dessert menu. I've tried apple custard and it was good, but other items were peanut butter cups, root bear float, pumpkin cheesecake...I felt they could add something that kind of fits better with homemade pappardelle and San Marzano tomatoes.
Oh, and did I mention their cocktails were really good, and service too? Anyway, we'll probably come back often.
