We stayed at the Foot of the Mountain Motel for 2 nights at the end of
a 2 week vacation in Montana and Wyoming. It was nice to be able to
dry out the tent on the sunny table in the meadow out back. Try to get
a room that backs up to the stream and meadow; construction is ongoing
right next door. Walking access to downtown and campus was good. We would happily stay again.

My husband and I stayed in the Flagstaff suite for 7 nights and from what I recall, paid a slightly discounted rate of $135/night because of the length of our stay. I was surprised by the cleanliness of the suite, especially since it looked like it was outfitted sometime in the 70s. The suite was huge; I'd say it was 1000+ square feet. There were 2 cozy bedrooms, a large living room, a full-sized kitchen, a dining room and a smallish bathroom. The deck behind the dining room had a hot bath and a grilling area (neither of which we used). The manager at the reception, while friendly, was a bit officious, and I did get a sense that she kept a close watch on all of the guests. We were handed a list of dos and don'ts upon checkin, much as we might expect from a landlady in a boarding house. That aside, I did enjoy the suite for its spaciousness and the serene and beautiful setting. I shopped at Whole Foods Market and enjoyed walking everyday to the center of town, which itself was very charming.

This suite is like a small apartment. It was the old owners quarters that has been seperated out into 2 suites: The Flagstaff & the Hideaway. The first year the suites were available was 2004. At the time of reservations and at check in, it's important to review safety procedures and cleaning care of such a large space so the deposit can be returned without question and everyone is satisfied at check out without incident.

Would stay here again. Think of it as two steps above camping, because the rooms are like little old cabins. The room was clean and had a refrigerator. The shower is small and the bathroom did not have a fan, but it met all my needs otherwise. This is a great deal, with kind staff, and steps from Boulder Creek. It's quiet and peaceful, in the shadows of the flatirons. It's pet friendly too- the housekeeping staff fell in love with our dog and treated him great too! Don't bother with the breakfast there- save your hunger and go to Lucille's on Pine Street, you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I spent three nights at this quaint motel. We really enjoyed the location adjacent to a city park and walking trail. The room was small, but very clean. The bed was OK for me, but not for my wife. The continental breakfast is insufficient, with only coffee, a little fruit, some boxed juices, and muffins and pastries individually wrapped similar to a convenience store. There were three problems with our room (#1): a leak in the gas heater, a weak signal from the wireless (worked only 25% of the time, at most), and lack of opaque curtains resulting in the outside night light shining into the room. We're not sure we would return, despite wonderful location, quaintness, and cleanliness.

After reading this review we had Excel Energy come out and test the heaters in most rooms (some were occupied). The gas in this room was off and tested negative as well as the other heaters tested. This made us feel better all around. All windows open for fresh air and there are fans in all the rooms. Our continential breakfast is small but it will get you started for the day. The curtains are rubber backed but light in color. We have hopes to replace them in the coming years as they are expensive.

This was a great little place to stay - it was quiet, had a nice park where you could walk and was within walking distance of the Pearl Street Mall. I would highly recommend it!
