Minh Minh is popular with the locals and if you intend eating here after 6pm it is generally wise to book a table at this place which holds probably 40 or so people. 7pm Sunday night it was full.
Serves are generous and well presented and fairly priced, thanks to plenty of competition in this street.
We started off with a mongolian duck @ $19 which was a generous serve on a sizzling plate. A genuine 8/10 for this one.
Jasmine tea was $1 per head, with a free refill and corkage was $4 for our one bottle of wine.
We loved the spicy squid in rock salt and this is one dish not to be missed. At around $18 the batter was light and crisp and the squid perfectly cooked. A nice sized serve. 8.5/10 for this.
Our next dish was a chilli prawns with vegetables- a reasonable amount of prawns and quite tasty. 7.5/10 I thought.
The mixed vegetable dish we ordered had bok choy, tofu, baby corn, sliced wombok and mushrooms in a nice oyster sauce with some cashews. 7.5/10 for this one.
I suspect msg may have been used in some dishes as I had a dry throat the next day when I woke up. I should have checked to make sure. I didn't mark them down on this as I'm not 100% sure it was used and it may not be the case- best to ask I think.
All up our bill for 4 was a fraction over $90.
Service was fast and efficient. Staff helpful and friendly. Recommended for a good feast at a fair price in casual surroundings.
