“GREAT FOOD - Prices Were Wild Though”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

Great service - a little theatrical, but great. The food was delicious and plentiful, but very expensive. I'd go there again, but with a smaller group. Can't say enough about the quality of the food; very tasty!

“What has happened to this place”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

Went in for dinner sat at the bar asked for the dinner menu, no steaks to be found, no seafood soups, but was told to go across the room to C-Bar which is the same owner but different menu, here is an idea make the whole place one menu, this place is nowhere near what it was 5 years ago when I last went... BTW The C-BAR is the worst place I have ever been to in Vail/Beaver Creek.

“Much better, but service is still a bit slow”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2014 via mobile

Two years ago, I rated this place a clear 1, however always prepared to try again we decided to try again. The good news is that the food is much better, we had a variety of entrees and all were good. The kids meals were more than adequate, especially the steaks. despite the distraction of the magician on site to entertain the kids, the service is still quite slow.
This was not a busy night, and the kitchen was struggling to meet acceptable times, I would think it falls over if they were busy( they can double in size by removal of a curtain )..
Summary, it's worth a try, but risky if you want a qui kiss meal

“Even during the Holidays it is great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Had dinner for nine and everyone loved their food and drinks. Two teenagers had their fill and loved the apps. table ready on the time despite full restaurant. main course has slow in being delivered but great steaks. wine selection was super and reasonable. this place was fine during peak week. Even better in summer when not 100% full.

“Mixed experiences”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

We were skiing Beaver Creek the week before Christmas and visited the Chophouse on two occasions, the first to dine with friends and the second for Christmas dinner. The first meal was OK, great service, juicy perfectly cooked steaks and fish - including a variety of different oysters to start. However although the meat and fish were excellent the accompaniments (potatoes and veg) were small, looked very tired, and weren't value for money.
The Christmas day meal was again a mixed bag, the service was mediocre, and while the fish dishes got a thumbs up from the family the turkey & trimmings were a disaster - cold, chewy and very salty.
Summary - great location and nice atmosphere but the food doesn't live up to the hype. There are better places to eat in BC.
