“Warm Stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

We had a girls ski trip and had a 2 bedroom/ 2bath. The condo was great! We were only traveling for 3 nights and 4 days but there was plenty of room and space for (4) women... and all of our accessories. HML is in a great location and is easy access to the lifts to BC and Batchelor Gulch. We loved that we could walk right around the village for dinner and shopping but there were still free shuttles around the mountain. It was great having the continental breakfast included and made it easy to get up, grab, and get out on the slopes. The beds were VERY comfortable and warm, I had a hard time getting out of bed in the mornings... It was an overall great trip and the HML made it even better!

Room Tip: We had room 142. It was in the back on the first floor so it was really quiet. The living room was l...

We have stayed here now for 10 years and never disappoints. The ski shop next door is great and the village atmosphere is the wonderful. There are a lot of good restaurants in the village but also off campus in Avon. The ski school is phenomenal with kids.

We rented a 2bd/2bath and and adjoining studio with bath for 2 families with a total of 8. There were enough beds when we used the two pullout couches. The accommodations were nice and you could tell the finishes were high end. Although not huge, it was larger than standard hotel rooms except that there wasn't a lot of storage space which is tough with skiing clothing and suitcases.

The morning continental breakfast was nice and simple. There was enough for each person to pick something they liked even after 7 days. It was nothing special but it did save us from having to make breakfast each morning as we were trying to get out and on the mountain.

My kids used the pool/hot tub each night and enjoyed it after a day of skiing. I used the smallish gym once and it was adequate since not many people come there for the gym.

It's about 200 yards to the lift so each day we carried our gear over. This is the only downside to the area compared to Deer Valley were we have skied in the past. I don't find walking in ski boots and carrying skis very comfortable.

I appreciated that there were no additional charges such as resort fees for parking, etc given how much it was per night in the high season. The front desk was helpful in getting extra supplies for the room. Overall a very nice place for a great family ski vacation.

Room Tip: Don't get a high room, there's only 1 elevator. Staying on the 2nd floor is fine.

We spent a week in a studio. Very good quality in every respect, kitchenware seemed new, lovely bathroom, very comfortable bed.
The studio unit seems to be an attachment to another apartment and the communicating door is NOT soundproof, so you get all the noise from next door - Hyatt should do better. Fortunately it all died down before sleeptime.
Fridge freezer is great but the motor never seemed to switch off.....
Very enjoyable week.

Staydd here the first week of December 2012. It has an excellent location close to Beaver Creek village and the mountains. Quiet street and quiet hours in the hotel. Right next to a ski rental shop. Underground parking was great. Front desk was always accommodating, whether it be for renting movies, finding stuff to do or hotel issues. Standard breakfast with bagels, cereals, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. Hot tubs were perfect.

The only downside was our room was always hot. We had a 2 bedroom with a balcony. Nicely furnished, comfy sheets, robes, towels and such. Look forward to going back!

I have always wanted to stay in this place, which is in Beaver Creek village proper. Be careful what you wish for.

I had a two bedroom, two bath unit with kitchen and washer and dryer and all the stuff you would expect in a privately owned condo. The interior finish and furnishings were very high-end, but the layout of the unit was bizarre. Very small kitchen with inadequate eating area. Door into master bedroom clunks into the side of the bed, so there is no nightstand or reading light on that side. Not OK for two people if they both want to read. No dresser in master bedroom. Not OK. Second bedroom has two twins but the size of the room dictates that they have to be pushed together. If two people sleep in there, they better be chummy. Balcony was so tiny that it was worthless. Last but not least, most of my windows looked at the side of the adjoining building which was about 15 feet away.

Maybe some of the other units have better floor plans and better views than the one I had but why take the chance? As a better alternative that is also in Beaver Creek village proper, I recommend St. James Place (which is basically next door) if you need a functional kitchen and eating area and your party has more than three people. The St. James units are not quite as upscale as the Hyatt Mountain Lodge, but they are plenty upscale enough for me and far more user-friendly. The St. James public areas are also nicer in my estimation. (That said, St. James does not have an outdoor pool while the Hyatt Mountain Lodge does.)

If you only need one bedroom and don't need a kitchen, I recommend the Poste Montane which is also basically next door to the Hyatt Mountain Lodge.

Bottom line: I wish I could steal the furniture from my unit at the Hyatt Mountain Lodge, but there are better places to stay in Beaver Creek village. (PS: don't confuse the Hyatt Mountain Lodge with the Park Hyatt at Beaver Creek which also has some condo-style units. They are two completely different properties and are NOT next door to each other.)

Room Tip: Ask for a unit with an actual view instead of the side of the adjoining building. Also, I would avoi...

Stayed here for a week in August. The location is beautiful, the rooms are very convenient and well stocked, and the front desk staff is very friendly. Overall, we loved being here. They do a lot of small things that add up to lovely surprises: Starbuck's coffee in the lobby all day long, snacks, apples and cookies waiting for the guests as they walk in, heated pool, great gym etc etc.

Room Tip: Ask to be in a room NOT facing the pool if you don't want to hear children splashing and playing...
