“Great villas and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

We swapped our interval international studio for a studio at Grand Mtn Lodge. We were very pleased with the resort. We were able to upgrade to a 1bedroom after the weekenders had left and what a difference! The 1 bedroom is by far better… it is twice the size has a large kitchen, fireplace, balcony, oversized bathtub… just to name a few. There is a shuttle van that is quick to take you to town and pick you up. I wouldn't really classify this as ski in ski out in my opinion. The Beaver run chair is about a 3 min shuttle ride which is worth it instead of walking snowflake chair that is slow and then up and down to get over to beaver run (perfectly located). The hot tubs are amazing with plenty of room, although I wish there was one specifically for adults. It is inconveinent to go to the spa to take a robe then have to return it to the spa at the end of the trip but it's a big nice fluffy robe-that makes it worth the hassle. The restaurant it AWESOME!! We were so tired by the end of the day that we ended up eating there 3 nights and I have to say it was better than 2 of the overpriced meals we had in town. I wish they were opened for breakfast!
Overall it was a great trip, the check in guys were super nice and helpful. We hope to be back if not this year then next!!!

Room Tip: Request 3rd floor, which is the top floor, so you don't hear people stomping around early in th...

Thank you for your recent review of our property. We are pleased to hear that our staff was able to upgrade to our Premium villa, as you mentioned it is very spacious with a full stove, as well as a gas grill in the balcony. We stay last week for 4 nights 5 days at the Sheraton Mountain Vista Villa. We upgraded to a premium 1 bedroom suit with a view of the mountains and pool... worth it! Stunning views... big windows in the bedroom overlook the mountains and king size very comfortable bed. Fire places in both the living room and bedroom were a really nice touch! Bathroom was very clean and spacious. Kitchen was great had all the amenities needed to make breakfast in the morning and dinners in the evenings. There were two separate times where we needed assistance - once with the stereo and once with the coffee maker - a repair guy came quickly and fixed the issue in no time at all. All the staff members we met were very helpful. The women at the concierge desk was great - she personally walked us out the doors to point us in the right direction to get to the Riverfront Gondola - which takes you to the beaver creek lift right to the mountain (by Bachelors Gulch) or you can take a shuttle to the bottom of Beaver Creek Village. Both were easy to get to and took less than 15 min.
The heated garage was great! We were there in very cold weather and it was nice when going out at night to not have to worry about getting into a freezing cold car.
We also made use of the outdoor hot tub on the roof top overlooking the mountains... very nice and felt great. It would be smart to bring a robe since its a cold run indoors once you get out. Towels are provided.
If your an early riser - i would recommend going to the City Market (2 min drive) and buying some breakfast items - since there was nothing open in the morning until around 7:30-8ish (we were hungry at 6:30am since we were on NY time)
Overall very comfortable stay and was a great way to enjoy snowboarding at Beaver Creek without actually staying in Beaver creek village.
(Fun night activity - Dine in movie theater 10 min drive - Cinebistro at Solaris - in Vail.)

Room Tip: Upgrade to a premium 1 bedroom... much bigger. And ask for Mountain view!

I love this hotel’s location! It is close to Beavercreek and Vail. They have a free shuttle bus that picks you up right in front of the hotel and takes you to Beavercreek (it goes by at many different times throughout the day and night). It takes only about 10-15 minutes to get there with stops. They also have a shuttle bus to Vail for a small fee. Bus does get kind of full during the high season but because the Sheraton is about the bus’ 3rd stop there’s usually plenty of room at the Sheraton’s stop.

They have 3 hot tubs, one on the roof outside, another on the roof inside and one in the ground level next to a heated pool. There’s a fireplace next to the pool downstairs. It’s nice for roasting marshmallows and making s’mores. There are good restaurants within walking distance and the post office is right across. They have a covered parking lot.

The rooms are very comfortable and cozy. They have a nice fireplace, kitchenette, dining table, pull out sofa and most rooms have a whirlpool inside the bathroom. They even have a grill outside! Housekeeping does a great job of cleaning rooms each day! The kitchenettes do not have electric burners but you can order them from the front desk along with pots and pans so you can cook.

Their staff is wonderful and treats you with respect. I had a small situation with the room and between the front desk attendant, Hector and maintenance they fixed it right away to our satisfaction.

The concierge offered us to do the Starwood Vacation Ownership tour. It is right next door at the Westin and we got 10,000 points for doing it. The people who showed us the opportunity for ownership were nice and not pushy. It took less than 2 hours and we enjoyed seeing the property!

By staying at this hotel there are many restaurants that give you discounts for showing them that you are staying at the Sheraton. Make sure the concierge gives you the list of places and don’t forget to get the discounts ;)

The only possible downside some might find is that rooms do not have an air conditioning unit. This was no problem to us at all! You can control the room temperature by leaving the windows opened or closed and turning on the fireplace.

I like this hotel so much that I have just booked it for the third time!

Room Tip: When you book your room ask to be on the mountain side. It has an amazing view!

I stayed here for one night on the way to Aspen. The rooms are essentially 1 bedroom apartments and include washers and dryers. I drove for my skiing, but the bus is available. Great value for families and much cheaper than surrounding options.

As far as 3 star hotels go, this cannot be beaten.

Have stayed at this property twice and I highly recommend it for any families.

From an accommodations standpoint, it rates a bit higher than a traditional Sheraton. The room I had both trips was very spacious. A small kitchen with a fridge, microwave, dishes and utensils, along with a kitchen table. There was a washer / dryer, a living room with a fire place, a separate bedroom, and a very large bathroom (with a jacuzzi tub). The sofa in the living room pulls out to a bed. I also liked that the room has a DVD player in it.

My kids and I enjoyed going up to the game room to play Ping Pong and shuffleboard. There is also a pool table, foosball table, air hockey, and a few arcade games. A sign said that guests could get an XBox or Wii to take up to the room and use on the big screen TV. In addition, the gym on the 7th floor was well equipped and had a sauna, steam room, and both indoor and outdoor hot tubs. There's also an outdoor heated pool and hot tub that are open year around. For the most part, the pool and hot tub were used by families as it's a resort more aimed at that demographic than being a party spot. Also at the pool was a fire pit, and guests could pick up a kit to roast marshmallows at the front desk.

For skiing, there's a rental shop in the lobby area, which provides good equipment at reasonable rates. They also have a small market. While the selection is minimal, the food was good and prices were more reasonable than most hotels. My kids were exhausted after skiing all day and were happy just to get Quesadillas (very good!), hot dogs, sandwiches and chicken strips from the market and eat in our room. A couple of caveats…that's the only restaurant on premise and again, it's a very limited menu. They also sell beer, but have to open it when you buy it (so nix the idea of buying a 6 pack and taking it back to your room for an extended stay). There's a Walgreens across the street and a few restaurants within walking distance.

For skiing, it's convenient for Beaver Creek. A shuttle picks you up outside and takes you to the base of the mountain and runs every 15 minutes. I believe they also have shuttles to Vail but with a more limited schedule (and unlike the shuttle to Beaver Creek, there's a charge to go to Vail). But it's only a 10-15 minute drive to Vail, and that's in snowy conditions.

The Concierge is very helpful, but as a warning, they are there to try to get you to do a "tour" (i's one of those time share deals where they want you to listen to a sales pitch…not something I get excited about while on vacation).

Thank you for writing this review of our property and for choosing our resort for your family getaway. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with and that our staff and our room accommodation were able to help in making your vacation memorable. I am also happy to hear that you took advantage of all the amenities that our hotel has to offer. Like you mentioned we have a game room with many options of video games and table games. We also have 3 hot tubs, a heated pool and steam and sauna rooms. Though the menu at our market is somewhat limited, they do offer like you mentioned, some food items, like quesadillas, sandwiches, and other snacks that are a definite option if you are not looking to eat out at a restaurant. Like you mentioned our location in Avon gives all guests easy access to Beaver Creek. We are located in the complimentary shuttle route that takes you to the village and they do run every 15 minutes in the morning and afternoon to get skiers there and back. Once again, thank you for your feedback and for choosing to comeback and stay with us. I hope to welcome you back to our resort on your next visit to the beautiful Vail Valley.

Just got back from opening week at Vail and Beaver Creek. This property is in Avon which is just 5 min from Beaver Creek and about 15 min from Vail with easy access to I-70. Heated, underground garage is great in the winter time, not to mention the ski lockers they have down there. The fitness center is adequate and has 2 hot tubs adjoining - 1 downside is that a lot of people traipse thru there and drip water on the floor which is slightly annoying t/o gym goers. There's a ski rental place in the lobby which is super convenient - got our skis waxed and tuned there (about same price as at the resorts). There is a marketplace/convenience store which is nicely appointed but its hours of operation are quite limited - fortunately, there are grocery stores nearby. There's a heated outdoor pool and an outdoor gas-powered fireplace where you can do smores (tip - don't buy the smores pack from the front desk - the graham crackers and marshmallows were really stale and the sticks were quite short). The rooms themselves were OK - nothing special. They are definitely very dim rooms (light fixtures are poorly placed and the bulbs are low wattage). The fireplace in the room works great; as does the washer/dryer unit. The 1BR unit does not have a stove which is a shame - it has everything else in the kitchen. The hot water in the bathroom/shower comes on instantly which is great, esp in the winter time. All in all, a very adequate, functional, solid property for a family for ski purposes.

Thank you for staying with us and writing this review of our property. I am glad to hear that you took advantage of all our amenities including the ski rental shop. It is super convenient and they offer rental discounts for staying at our property. I do apologize that the smore kit you purchased was not up to par. That is not typical and I do sincerely apologize for the issue. By the sound of you description you stayed in our deluxe villa which includes all the amenities you mentioned, but unfortunately is does not have a stove or cook top. On future stays with us our premium villa can be an option. That villa does have a stove and cook top. Our villas do have energy saving bulbs which can initially e dim but will definitely get brighter after warm up. Once again we thank you for choosing our resort for your getaway and for your feedback. We hope to welcome you back on future visits for the beautiful Vail Valley.
