“A simply great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2011

We stayed here for the second time during our January ski trip. We enjoyed both the champagne powder and the lovely accomodations. The hot tubs and in-room fireplace were primed for helping us relax, and the circular fire table in the hotel bar for making new friends. The in-room washer/dryer were wonderful additions for cleaning and drying our ski clothes each night, and we enjoyed our view of the mountains from our bedroom. The ski valet staff were extremely helpful as always, and I look forward to trying out the spa on our next visit. We did have a bit of a delay while our room was prepared, and it took a while for valet to fetch our car, but these were minor inconveniences.

“A whole new level of Westin goodness”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2011

Amazing 'green' hotel nestled into Beaver Creek. The hotel is incredibly proud of it's green/environmental status, as it should be. Moreover, the views of the mountain are amazing and Restaurant Avondale is simply stunning... between the view and the great natural food choices. Unfortunately on this trip, I was initially given the keys to someone else's room (or more accurately a room that hadn't been cleaned yet) but the staff was super apologetic and got me a new suite in a jiffy. The fireplace in the room is a wonderful amenity. Only other negative-- had to call the front desk for a hair dryer and it took them forever to find one. Wouldn't keep me from staying a million more times, though.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feed back of your experience here at the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa at Beaver Creek. We are very proud to be the only hotel in the Vail Valley that has its Silver Leed Certification, and we continue to find as many ways as possible to incorporate green practices into everything that we do. We would like to apologize for sending you to a room that wasn’t ready and the timeliness of receiving your hair dryer. We are looking forward to your future stays and the opportunity to correct these issues.

“Incredible spg property - don't believe the bad reviews.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2011

Last year my husband and I were in CO for a wedding near Denver. We snuck to Beaver Creek for a few nights and originally booked the Sheraton. Prior to the Conde Nast ranking and all the hoopla, this hotel was less than $250/night. We saw the photos and decided to buck up for the Westin and we were thrilled!
When we pulled up the location (although not at the main base) was gorgeous. The lobby has central huge windows looking out at the mountains and the Westin pool. It's absolutely gorgeous.
Check in went well and our room was more than adequate for a ski hotel. We left our skis and boots in the check-in area and headed to the main restaurant/bar. It's a Ming Tsai creation and he was actually at the bar one night after we skiied which was incredible. The drink creations in this bar and indoor/outdoor fires gave these New Yorkers and incredible Colorado feeling. You must try the strawberry balsamic mojito. Food was fantastic as well.
For those reviewers who felt it wasn't ski in/ski out - you're nuts. So the gondola at the Westin takes you to a life and then a trail - you still have a gorgeous, modern lift at your doorstep and you don't need a car. I think it's worth it for the service at this hotel.
One additional note - the spa is lovely as is the gym. They had an array of yoga classes and a lovely staff. This was one of my favorite getaways we ever had in Colorado. Go! We are just sad it's $700/night now.

Thank you for being such an advocate for the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and understand the benefits of our location. Not sure what dates you are looking at coming back, but we do still have some winter rates and special deals starting at $391.

“Beautiful, fun and family oriented but Expensive!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2011

We just returned last night from staying here a week. We brought our three children with us ranging from 7 months to 7 years old. The hotel is in a great location, but not on the mountain so there is no ski in ski out. You will have to take a bus up there or drive your car but parking is a total nightmare on the mountain. Also, there is a chair lift to take from the hotel but with kids this wasn't possible for us.
We stayed in a room that had a kitchen, this was the best part. You were able to cook your own food. The hotel food is wonderful but expensive of course. The lobby has a band every night and happy hour which is really nice coming in from a ski day. The valet guys are very nice as well, but valet is $25 a night and they always expect a tip as well. We rented all our equipment right there at the hotel and they valet it at night free of charge. This was really nice.
They have a kids program as well and they have a babysitting service you can call...the cost for one child an hour was $23 but they were really good.
Our stay was wonderful, yes there are a lot of dogs but it never got in our way. Our kids enjoyed seeing all of them. The hotel at times can be a little disorganized with stuff but this was minor.
If your up for a good time with your family this is a wonderful place to stay and really convenient to Vail as well. But plan to spend!

Thank you for sharing your family’s experience at the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your room and the amenities and services that we were able to provide complimentary. We do understand that getting to Beaver Creek with 3 small children can be difficult. According to our past guests with similar family situations they have found that taking the gondola from the hotel to the landing and then catching the bus from there to the next stop at the Beaver Creek Village has proved to be the most convenient access to the mountain.

“Fantabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2010

The Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa is absulutely breathtaking! Our room had a wonderful view of the mountain and the room was spacious and elegant. This is a first class resort. Although I didn't have an opportunity to utilize the spa, I visited it and saw that it would be a relaxing experience! The pool and the pool deck is lovely with a great view of the mountain.

We went during October for the first time of many visits to the area and enjoyed the colorful aspen trees. We took several hikes in the surrounding area and enjoyed the tranquility of nature. We usually go to this area during the hustle and bustle of ski season and this resort would accomodate skiing excellently as the gondola actually comes to this resort and carries you directly to Bachelor's Gulch where you can then purchase lift tickets or hop onto the lift if you already have your lift pass or ticket.

We will definitely be back and I will look forward to visiting this resort again in the future!
