“mom's cafe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014

If your mom was a great cook and you want to stop in at a old time cafe where people are genuine and food is what you expect instead of fancied up and wierd, then this is it. The bean huevos rancheros is to die for, however my husband thinks the breakfast burrito is the best he's ever had. We've been eatting here for 30 years, everything is perfect, the wait staff is friendly and takes good care of you, the cooks keep an eye on you and are genuinely concerned that you are happy. It's not a gussied up restaurant, it's not "decorated" food, it's real food and lots of it in a friendly atmosphere....chances are you'll make friends with the people sitting at the table next to you.

“True locals spot, great on service, food could be better.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

I would give this three and a half stars if that were an option. The breakfast is very hardy with some very tasty entrees. The place has not changed in 30 years with few menu changes. The pancakes can be heavy and dry and eggs under cooked it is hit or miss. The coffee needs to be taken to a higher level. The wait staff is wonderful and the service is always attentive. I am a local but would like to see things improved with some healthier entrees.

“Great Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013 via mobile

We've eaten here about a dozen times without ever being disappointed. Food is really prepared well, and wait staff is friendly. Mostly locals but you know it's good when you see a steady stream of customers from Glenwood and aspen. CASH ONLY although they do have an ATM on premises.

“Fantastic find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

We are on a touring holiday from Denver to California and just happened to stop here on our way from Aspen to Gunnison for breakfast. We both had half orders which were more than enough, I don't know how anyone could manage a full order. The coffee kept coming as soon as the mug was emptied, the waitress was very helpful suggesting places to stop on our journey. We did as she said and found the pretty town of Redstone. I would seriously recommend anyone to stop at this cafe.

“Best Eggs Benedict in the USA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Bottom line, no question about it. I have been eating here for more than 20 years and each and every time the benedict is the best. Only on weekends and the best pre-flyfishing meal you could ever want. They have many more tings people rave about but I can never deviate from the benedict. No reason to.
