Closet town to Joshua Tree National Park that has everything you will need. All fast food and some quaint mom and pop's. Italian restaurant was very good (can't think of name). Super 8 is reasonable but no laundry facilities or data ports. Sizzler right next door. Carrow's Restaurant is excellent and very reasonable. Fresh donut shop in town excellent and next door to laundrymat. People very friendly. End of May is very hot which is when I was there in 2003 and will be again in 2004. Park is beautiful anytime but exceptional at sunset! Very friendly coyotes in park also; obviously used to being fed. One came right up to car going from door to door looking for food. Great experience though.
