“Adequate hotel, do not recommend the suite”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

My boyfriend and I stayed in the "King Suite" at the Best Western in Joshua Tree. I was told when booking through the 1-800 number that the room had a full kitchen, with a stove, which it did not (I specifically asked about the stove). The room had very minimal kitchen supplies (very small pot and pan, 2 mugs, 2 plates, 2 bowls, 2 of each utensils, wine key, can opener). This was disappointing because I had prepared food to make but did not have the equipment or supplies to do so. We paid additional money to stay in the suite, which I do not recommend (if you do, please know to bring your own supplies). The room was a similar size to other hotel rooms, it just had some cabinets, a full-size fridge, a sink, and stove top. Everything else was fine and as expected (good service, clean rooms, comfortable bed). I simply do not recommend the suite.

I am disappointed that our staff did not meet your expectations. The items you requested were available ( except for an oven) but the newest employe did not follow thru. Again I apologize and hope your next stay will not be stressful.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Three of us women stayed in a two bedroom suite and it was great. Would have been nice to have 2 bathrooms but the bathroom was large and roomy. Staff was very nice and helpful.

We stay at this hotel every Thanksgiving. It is clean and the staff is always wonderful. They provide a nice buffet breakfast. We encourage anyone staying in the Hi Desert to stay at the Best Western in Yucca Valley.

The front desk staff is very friendly and competent and the room is very spacious and clean. We enjoyed the hot breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage or bacon and other sides. However, the refrigerator in our room is loud, the housekeeping is hit and miss, and the plumbing is confusing. It is one of the best choices in the area; but at $119-130 a night, it is not a bargain. We also wondered about security in the second building as the outside doors were not locked at night. Our stay was still positive overall and we will stay again next time we visit family.

We came here based on the reviews we read in TripAdvisor, but we did not expect so much noise! The room is clean, the bathroom very nice and large, but the noise level is surprising! Truck after truck on the busy road outside. The guests in the next room have children, and the walls are so thin we can understand their conversations. Upstairs, somebody likes to jump! On our road trip, which started in San Diego, Costa Mesa, Exeter, Sequoia National Park, Death Valley National Park, and now here in Yucca Valley, this is by far, far the loudest place! And we will be here for two long nights! Oh, the peace and quiet in Sequoia and Death Valley....

This hotel is your basic run-of-the-mill Best Western - nothing special. We were greeted with warm cookies so that was a nice touch. The room was large and super clean. Since we were there in sort of the off season for Joshua Tree the hotel wasn't crowded which was good because there didn't seem to be that much parking space. The breakfast was pretty minimal with warm (not hot) eggs, biscuits/gravy, waffles, sausage, other assorted stuff. Definitely wasn't a strong point of the hotel and the folks preparing the breakfast weren't always very prepared. However, the breakfast was adequate to see us off for a morning of hiking. The location is good and surprisingly quiet since it was on the major highway through town. The hotel was about a 10 minute drive to the park visitor center and then another 5 min or so to the park entrance. One good thing about the location is that the restaurants nearby are seemingly endless with all of the major chains within less than 5 min drive and there are grocery stores and a big Walmart near at hand as well. Staff was friendly and offered help with directions.

Room Tip: We had a room at the end of a corridor and it was very quiet.

We were disappointed that the expanded selection of breakfast items displeased you, if you had a specific dietary need please bring it to the staff's attention. Please let us know what we can do during your next stay.
