I took my boyfriend up to Napa for his birthday, and we stayed at the Oleander House. This was my first time staying at a B&B and I absolutely loved it. The breakfast was great and Kathleen was a wonderful host. She made us feel very welcomed in her house and even made my boyfriend a special brakfast one morning because he does not like cheese. Our room was very spacious and cozy at the same time. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a romantic getaway becasue the fireplace and the jacuzzi tub in the room really set the mood.

We found Oleander House to be just great for our brief stay. Our party booked 3 rooms and they were all as they appeared on the website or better. Yes, it is right on the road but set back far enough that we were not disturbed by road noise and two of our 3 rooms faced the front. Kathleen is very gracious and the breakfast was just wonderful. The garden room doesnt have a fireplace but it has the greatest private patio. The others have balconies and fireplaces and are surprisingly spacious. We will go back.

From the picture on their website, the Oleander House looks secluded, and well off the beaten path. Unfortunately, it's right on the busy 29 Highway and our room suffered from constant traffic noise that required earplugs and a white noise radio (the latter provided, fortunately). The other rooms were spacious and probably good for the price if you're a deep sleeper or on a budget. For a romantic, special-occasion getaway, though, this wasn't the place.
The hostess was friendly and well-meaning, but made some basic customer-service gaffes, like making sweeping political/foreign policy statements at breakfast in front of a mixed, international crowd.

Kathleen is ready to welcome you to her gorgeous home at Oleander House. She makes you feel as though you are very special friends visiting from out of town. The rooms are large with brass beds, high ceilings, fireplaces and Laura Ashley furnishings. The five rooms each have a balcony or patio. All have access to the jacuzzi outside.

There's a comfortable sitting area upstairs with mini refrigerator stocked with water and soda, to decompress after a day of touring wineries. There's even a decanter of brandy and jar of nuts. Coffee magically appears at 7:30 am. At 9 am, everyone sits around the dining room with Kathleen to share a very delicious breakfast and discuss the day's activities.

The home is set on very busy route 29, two minutes walk from the delicious Mustard's Grill. But the road calms down at night and there's a quiet country road nearby for an early morning walk or jog. The wild blackberries are yummy.
