Wanted something a little less formal but still adventurous for a recent last-minute trip to Napa.
The atmosphere was relaxed with a good vibrant buzz. This is not a sleepy place.
Clientele seemed a little younger than the usual Napa/Sonoma restaurants--late twenties to mid forties. Not that there weren't older folks, it just seemed a little younger to me--which is nice!
Our meal was great from beginning to end. A frisee salad with beets. Beef brisket with bacon wrapped endive, onions, and purple fingerling potatoes. Cheese plate. Pear crumble with vanilla ice cream. All of this served family-style and enough food for two hungry guys. We loved it.
Service was attentive but informal. Wine pairings were spot-on.
