We went with high expectations after reading some glowing TripAdvisor reviews and after being told how wondeful Redd was from anyone in the area that we told where we were eating. It started off well and we were seated immediately....and there unfortunately is where the good service ended. I believe that the sign of a good restaurant is not just the quality of food.....Redd had no problem with the quality of food--it was very good. However, the service was horrible. So horrible all we could do was laugh--seriously....we were left unattended--no water, no menus, no bread, no wine list for over 10 minutes....the waitress was stiff, dull and managed to mess up a simple cocktail order and then seemed only slightly apologetic.
We had better meals/ambiance/wait staff at Bouchon and Hurley's in Yountville and then an exceptional meal and service at Dry Creek Kitchen in Healdsburg. I hope for everyone else going that we were there on an off night or perhaps just had a bad waitress...but it will not be high on our list of places to go next time we visit.
