I don't make it out of Alaska as much as I'd like, and I make it to California even less. But when I am around the bay area, I will always stop at NVG for lunch/dinner. I'm always greeted with a smile, and the service is always excellent.

I've been fortunate enough to get a table outside on several occassions, which is a treat for an Alaskan. With temperatures in the 70's in November (as opposed to in the 20-30's up here), it's a great way to enjoy a perfect steak or their fabulous Kobe burger. Add on a full-service bar, and an extensive wine list, you can see why it's my restaurant of choice when I'm passing through Yauntville.

Top notch establishment. I'll be back again!

Had a great time at napa valley grille!! THe food is excellent, Had the kobe beef burger absolutely wonderful burger. Servers were very responsive, they recommended the burger and was so pleased with that. We then proceeded to return for dinner and we pleasantly suprised with the soft shell crabs, had them a few times before at other restaurants and they were absolutely delicious here. The patio at night is quite romantic with the space heaters and blankets they offered. The management stopped by our table and were really friendly and recomended a few great places to go wine tasting. One of the best places to visit, a absolute must if you are near the town. Loved the "Flight of wines" gives you a chance to taste a few wines, instead of commiting to just one. They are also pet friendly we had our dog with us and they brought our dog out water to drink on the wondeful patio. You must go to visit if you are in the area will not be dissapointed at all.

My best friend met me in Yountville at the Napa Valley Grille for lunch on 3/21/08 - we both ordered the King Crab Salad. When our server placed our plates in front of us, we looked at each other and said "they've GOT to be kidding". There was no lettuce, and very small bits of crab - with two small sections of grapefruit. The entire "salad" was a very small "ice cream scoop" size of pre-tossed pieces of small cabbage with very small bits of crab.

When our server removed our plates, we both expressed our disappointment, and he said he had heard the same complaints several times. He said he had asked permission to warn patrons that this salad was very small with no lettuce so as to set expectations - he was told NO, he was not allowed to alert patrons. Neither of us will return to this restaurant; if I had it to do over again, I would have returned the salad un-touched and refused to pay for it.

The service was less than average. Food was good but they can go a long way with some customer service training. Hopefully management reads this and improves the experience for future customers. Take a class from Bistro Jeanty!
