Bouchon is the tastiest, most authentic French food I have had outside of France. I used to live in France, so I'm insufferably picky when it comes to French restaurants. Eat at Bouchon. Eat at Bouchon!
It is less expensive, less crowded, and easier to get a reservation for lunch. Service is just what it's supposed to be -- attentive without hovering and fully informed about the menu and the wine list. It can be a little loud due to the high ceilings and hard surfaces, but somehow it still feels romantic and charming, even at 1pm.
The wine list is a thing of beauty. It's well-curated not just with fancy, expensive wines, but with more reasonably-priced offerings, glasses, and splits. In France, you don't need to spend a fortune to enjoy a good wine. While you are paying Napa pricing, they make a real effort to give good selection at a decent (Napa) price.
The food is out of this world. Really, I don't want to waste your time trying to describe it. Vegetarian or carnivore, nibbler or gourmand, you will find your joy in the menu at Bouchon.
Go. Just go.
