“Definitely the place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

I recently spent two nights at the Hotel Yountville. Having never been to Napa Valley before I truly didn't know what to expect in the way of accommodations. I was blown away by this hotel. From the minute I walked in the lobby doors I knew it was the place to be. The staff were incredibly nice without being overbearing, the room was gorgeous, spacious, clean and in immaculate condition. My favorite was the jacuzzi bathtub - totally relaxing after a long drive. The hot tub was very relaxing and finally, a hotel with a hot tub that is NOT too hot. I was actually to sit in it for more than 3 minutes. The swimming pool was heated to the perfect temperature and the hotel restaurant - excellent food, ambiance and the service was amazingly good. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a very relaxing, quiet, peaceful getaway in Napa Valley!

Good:
This property is lovely. The grounds are immaculate and the rooms are wonderful. The bathroom is large and well appointed and you could practically swim in the tub. My wife and I have stayed here twice and each time we have been very impressed with the location, staff and rooms. We also ate breakfast at the restaurant and was very surprised how much we enjoyed the meal. We walked to dinner every night from this great location to some of the best food we every had. It is very convenient to the rest of Napa Valley and only few miles from the best vineyards.
Bad:
There was no bad. It is a bit pricey, but I believe you are getting what you pay for.

Overall, I enjoy this hotel and look to visit it again and again. If you can afford the price, you will be very happy.

Room Tip: I like the rooms on the ground floor next to the creek.

Hotel Yountville's room's were warm and inviting in a traditional yet updated classic way. The hotel remodeled the entire hotel 3 years ago working with designer Lisa Holt. The rooms are decorated in a way that makes you feel like you are staying in a beautiful guest bedroom in a home. We had a quiet room in the newer addition of the hotel facing a stream. We loved the quality bedding and the great shower with an extra large showerhead. There is also a nice sunken bathtub and your own Keurig coffee maker in your room and a gas fireplace. The staff from the bellman to the concierge to the bartender were friendly. We enjoyed a free wine tasting sitting by the pretty outside fireplace. The concierge set up a nice wine tour for us at places that were interesting and unique and required reservations that were by appointment only. I enjoyed using the free Yountville fitness center that was a short walk. We also liked that you can easily walk to all of the great restaurants in Yountville. We will return.

Thank you for your positive comments on your recent stay in regard to the guest room design and guest services.

In addition we are pleased you were able to visit one of the many local wineries that the hotel partners with. We have a Winery Partners program in which all hotel guests have access to many unique and private tastings and tours throughout the valley.

We look forward to your next visit where you can once again visit one of the hotels winery partners and enjoy all the Napa Valley has to offer.

Stayed here for 2 nights 12/7-12/9/2012. Although we didn't really use the main lobby/bar we did check out the spa services, kitchen and pool. Super clean and beautiful all around. Wife loved her massage while I just used the steam shower and outdoor spa/pool -- both heated (this is December). I actually first jumped in the night before when it was about 3C. Felt amazing.

As for the kitchen, we didnt get any room service, but the breakfast we had here was one of the best meals of the trip. Keep in mind we ate at some of the best places in the area (Redd, Jeanty, Bottega, Ad Hoc), but this breakfast was amazing.

Location was perfect, at the southern end of the street yet walking distance to most of the places we ate. Front desk gave us some tips for wineries. Although we didnt really plan on it, we drove to Rutherford to take photos and ended up with a tasting and tour -- all for $25 thanks to a partnership with the hotel.

The hotel room itself was fantastic. Comfy beds, modern and large bathroom with vanity. Didn't use the bath, but the shower had a standard detachable head as well as a large overhead head.

My ONLY complaints are:

1. in-room coffee machine is not up to par with the rest of the room.

2. although the many lights allow for dramatic and customized lighting, the switches were all over the place and confusing. Had to walk around the room adjusting them just to get it right. Perhaps some labels or a remote device to control them all?

We stayed for two nights as a quickie getaway and it was wonderful. The room was beautiful with every conceivable amenity. The bed alone was worth the trip. The bathroom is gorgeous, and we had our own gas fireplace and small patio. The lobby is also quite lovely with a roaring fireplace and nightly wine tasting. The location is perfect for Napa Valley, close to great restaurants and wonderful wineries. Two days of relaxation felt totally renewing. Our only regret was that we didn't reserve massages early enough to be able to make an appointment.

Delighted you selected the Hotel Yountville for your relaxing getaway. Thank you for your positive feedback.

As noted, while Spa AcQua has six treatment rooms demand for massages can be high at certain times of the year. During these busy times of year it is best to secure massage reservations while securing guest room accommodations. Hopefully on your next visit reservations can be made in advance so you can relax and enjoy all the spa has to offer.

Have been visiting the Napa Valley at least once a year for last 10 years and recently discovered Hotel Yountville. We will not stay anywhere else. Hotel Yountville gets high marks for several reasons: 1) the incredible staff is friendly and helpful, fulfilling all of our needs and desires, sometimes before we even make a request - they are true service professionals! We travel often and are surprised by the many hotels that fail to devote enough attention to attracting, retaining and training staff, and so guests are treated as though they are an inconvenience. Hotel Yountville is not one of them! Our initial interaction with Ally McCaslin, our reservation specialist was fabulous. Despite our many calls and emails to make arrangements for family and friends, Ally is always pleasant, professional and patient, providing confidence that everything will be as expected when we arrive, which it always is. Melody Tandy, John Dizon and Peter Dykstra, who all work the front desk, greet guests warmly. The first time we arrived at Hotel Yountville, Melody and Peter made us feel like we were welcome friends and by the second time we stayed at the hotel, we were old friends. They are genuinely friendly and professional. And I just have to say a few words about Corey, the bar manager. Despite the many bars in town, my family prefers hanging in the bar with Corey. With his mellow, unobtrusive style, Corey attracts an eclectic mix of people, young and old from a wide range of backgrounds, that become friends as the night passes. Even the housekeeping and gardening staff are helpful and friendly. 2) Hotel Yountville is one of the higher quality options in the Napa Valley but a better value in my opinion given that some options are prohibitively expensive, run down and dated, noisy, and/or lack some of the attributes mentioned in this review. 3) great location - close to the many restaurants in Yountville and short drive to nearby towns and wineries (highly recommend Redd for dinner, Bistro Jeanty for lunch and Bouchon Bakery for breakfast - dont be intimidated by long line at bakery, it moves quickly but be sure to check your order before leaving as they often forget an item or 2. Dont waste time and money at Bouchon Restaurant next to the bakery or Ad Hoc. The food and execution have gone down hill). 3) Elegant yet comfortable rooms and amenities. We typically request rooms furthest from street and on the second floor to insure quietest location - room numbers 700-900s. Importantly the beds are comfortable and cozy. The Gilchrest toiletries smell wonderful! A few areas for improvement are softer bath towels and softer two-ply toilet paper. Common areas are inviting, including lobby, bar, patio and pool area. The grounds are well maintained with fragrant lavender throughout. So relaxing!
