Just checked out yesterady from Lavender after a 2-night stay. We stayed in San Fran for one night then headed to Lavender for 2 nights on Fri and Sat. Let me preface this by sayiing that we stayed at Maison Fleurie on our honeymoon 10 yrs ago and wanted to replicate that trip....but at a different inn. How ideal that Four Sisters group added another inn in Yountville. Lavender Inn is absolutely perfect. We stayed in room 4 with a private courtyard, trickling fountain that served as our alarm clock, fireplace, very large bathroom with deep tub and concrete floors (with heater below the vanity), and 15 ft ceilings. It looked like room 5 had the same set up. We ate breakfast outside our room on the grassy knoll under a shady tree. Checked out bikes and rode around Yountville neighborhoods (loved it) and 10 min to Domaine Chandon for sparkling wine tasting. (really loved that). The inn is only one block from French Laundry and it looked intimate, special, and lush. Only 15 tables. Instead we chose to eat at Redd and Bistro Jeanty. Redd is definitely fashionable and a "be seen" spot but with food to match. Jeanty is a sentimental favorite from our honeymoon and excellent French bistro fare.

Overall, would highly recommend Lavender. We paid $275 but with the breakfast and afternoon wine hour it seems worth it. Villagio across the street (i think that's the name) seemed too new and sterile. Vintage Inn across the street did look interesting and worth a second look.

Yountville is a great location...central to Napa Valley and all the restaurants are on Washington St so you can walk home at night. That is critical if you are doing Redd's tasting menu.

Yep, this place was downright great! My wife & I stayed here in april o8 and hit some 80 degree weather. wow what a town! I see other guests' reviews complaining about little things that they would expect for a place that costs $250. a night. I suppose if we had paid $250. I might have wanted some extra special amenities. But I booked a last minute special on their website for $150 . I think you folks who pay $250. per night ought to realize that you are paying for the priveledge of being right downtown in the quaintest of quaint towns: Yountville, literally right around the corner from the most famous restaurant in the world!! (French Laundry). OH...ya didn't book 3 months ahead to get in to French Laundry?....Do what we did....walk the short stroll down to Bistro Jeanty...wow...what a romantic dinner with unbelievable food.....we finished up our Grand Marinier and Hennesy cognac and stumbled back to our room (#7)...in the original house and the only room with an outdoor jacuzzi tub...not a hot tub...but an actual outdoor bath-tub...wow!...I think a pedestrian saw my booty...oh well......
The hostess was awesome with her english accent and extremely friendly personality....the breakfast was great.....Heck the best western in Npa costa $125. per night...for $25. more - we were in heavan. It was worth $250..but glad I paid a hundred less....try booking at the last minute!! They had a winemaker and his wife there sharing their wine & we met other guests - as they had us all tell each other where we were from...Don't miss the wine & Hors deurvres..great fun.. This place is a "10".

The Lavender Inn exceeded my expectations from the beginning to the end. My two sisters and mother just returned from a two night stay. We had two cottages side by side. The service, cleanliness, charm and personal touches exceeded our expectations! It is so convenient to everything. Ms Marion made the perfect reservations for us for dinner at Hurley's. We loved the evening wine tasting by the fireplace. Breakfast was so wonderful we really did not need lunch. We arrived to find balloons in our room in celebration of our birthdays. Our patio fountain had a broken motor but much to our surprise we were given a bottle of champagne from Ms Marion to apologize for the inconvenience. I already plan to return.

I took my fiancé on a surprise trip to Napa to celebrate our engagement, and our stay at Lavender was definitely one of the highlights. We were greeted by the ever popular Marion, who gave us a quick tour of the grounds and our room. We were also given cards redeemable for free wine tastings at local tasting rooms (which are ~$15 per person in value). We went to, and recommend, Jessup and Hope and Grace. Our room was one of the courtyard cottages. It came with a king size bed, gas fireplace, and a wonderful bathroom with stone floor, 2 sinks, and a large bath tub. We also had a private little sitting area with a fountain outside of the room which would be perfect when the weather is nice (we were there in December).

We had breakfast in bed our first morning (part of the celebration package), and skipped it the second morning, since we had to leave early for the airport. They do serve it a little bit later than other B+Bs, but I think things move a bit slower in Napa. The breakfast was good, consisting of a frittata, some muffins, and fresh fruit. Nothing mind blowing, but still very nice. The location of the Inn is wonderful, walking distance to a number of great restaurants, bakeries, and wine tasting rooms. I would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to anyone visiting Napa.

“Yountville is worth the visit!”

Lavender

Dec 27, 2007

My husband and I stayed at the Lavender Inn for a few days during our honeymoon in Wine Country. We stayed in one of the newer rooms on the property, one of eight. The room was huge and the bathroom was equally as spacious. We had a private outdoor sitting area as well. The staff, though friendly, were a little too laid back for me. I had a package delivered to the property that ended up "missing" though the delivery service had the innkeeper's signature on record. A day later, the package appeared in the inn's refrigerator (it was a perishable gift). Though I was grateful to finally have this package in my possession, I was unhappy that the innkeepers didn't seem concerned with locating my package when I inquired about it. Other than that, the inn was fine. Breakfasts are uneventful but there are some excellent restaurants within walking distance. Definitely try Bouchon.
