“Fabulous champagne breakfast buffet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2009

We stayed at the Villagio for two nights in Jan. to celebrate my 60th birthday. Our room was very nice. We enjoyed the jaquzzi surrounded by candles while sipping on our complimentary bottle of champagne, then enjoyed the fireplace before going to Mustards for dinner. If you stay here request a room not on the highway side. Our room was on the "town side" and was nice and quiet. The location is a perfect homebase for visiting the hundreds of wineries in the Napa Valley. The soaps and shampoos were divine, and the bathroom was huge. The little town of Yountville is small, quiet, and stressfree. The best part of our stay was the delicious breakfast buffet . A cook is outside in the beautiful courtyard area making omelettes, and inside are homemade pastries, cakes, quiches, and other yummy finger foods. The coffee is delicious, and champagne is included. We will stay here again if we go back. You can't beat all that you get for the price!

We had a wonderful time there. We won a trip from Domino Sugar. The Villagio was top of the line. At check in we were greeted with a free complimentary cocktail. We received 6 chocolate covered strawberries in our room. The breakfast was free and the best we had ever had. Champagne and everything, The hotel was beautiful the workers waited on you head to toe and they always had a smile on their faces. The pool was great open 24 hours a day and the spa was terrifice. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The food was first class. Maids come in twice a day to clean your room and do turn down service.

We love Yountville and stayed one night at Villagio. While we had a great trip (Bottega dinner was top notch!) the stay was just OK as it didn't live up to our expectations... the whole place feels like an Orange County condo complex from the late '80's with cheesey columns and faux Italian fountains and things feeling a little run-down.

(We stayed in a downstairs room)

Cons:
-Room has dated look
-Bed sagged in middle (we both awoke with sore lower backs)
-Bed sheets not that nice
-Room was dark and looked out into another room...not sure if upstairs rooms have views, but downstairs ones def. do not.
-In-the-wall air conditioning unit
-General grounds feel dated
-Can hear highway from the pool

Pros:
-Service quite friendly (glass of wine at check-in nice touch)
-Very nice, new big spa facility (we walked around it, but didn't use it)
-Pool area is a bit of a scene (pro and a con, depending what you are looking for)
-Complimentary breakfast is a good spread

I think we will try another Yountville hotel on our next trip.

We stayed at the Villagio due to it's proximity to the French Laundry. Based on the previous reviews I feel that we may have missed something great about this hotel?
The location is right off highway 29 in the beautiful town of Yountville and a perfect spot to enjoy the wine country.

The hotel is nice, just did not find it very special. The front desk staff were friendly however when we parked I felt that I was going through the motions at a mid-priced property, self park, walking through parking lot and back of hotel to get to our room? Perhaps a valet option (is there one? If so it was not offered), someone to escort us to our room? The guestroom were large and great to have the fireplace. Bed linens however were worn and had holes in them.

Breakfast was a bit of a free for all, not many staff available to clear tables, replenish buffet, limited seating. Staff in general are somewhat too below the radar for my liking, friendly not attentive. Overall, not bad, just not in a hurry to stay again.

The location of the hotel is right in Yountville, on the same block as the top restaurants. My wife really enjoyed a massage at the spa which was being renovated at the time, but now is probably finished and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful in assisting us as we got lost drive from San Francisco. The breakfast was lovely and we would definitely choose to stay here again.

The Villagio is very nice. The rooms are big and clean, the breakfast is good and a perfect start to the day, and the pool is clean and comfortable. The spa is also very nice, and my wife found it to be first rate. The service is pleasant enough, but it's a bit underwhelming; not a lot of attempts are made to go out of their way to cater to your needs. We're very low maintenance, and so we didn't demand a lot, but I might have been upset if I was someone who was accustom to first-rate service, or if I had paid top dollar for the room (I didn't-- it was off-season and the room was very reasonable). No one offered to take my bags up to the room, concierge couldn't get me a reservation at a hot restaurant (I walked in and was seated immediately)--little things that you might expect. Overall, it's a relaxed, sprawling hotel centrally located to everything you need. If you want quaint or top-notch service, it's not the hotel for you. However, if you want clean, centrally located to all roads and easy access to some great restaurants, I'd highly recommend the Villagio.

My boyfriend and I just spent the weekend at Villagio. We were both very impressed and pleased, looking forward to a return visit. It was nice and cushy and not at all stuffy or overdone. Both of us travel a lot and have fairly high expectations. We loved the place.

The rooms are comfortable with nice fireplaces and outside patios. The fountains surrounding the grounds were very relaxing. The pool was fabulous with nice chaises, chairs, sofas and outdoor beds that were quite inviting. We spent hours there lounging, sitting in the very hot spa and playing cards. The champagne brunch each morning was quite tasty with the expected and the unexpected too. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Overall, I give our weekend there an A+.
