“Overall, the best hotel in all of Napa Valley. Period.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

When traveling to Napa Valley, there are a few things you must have at your hotel for the trip to be perfect, and I found it hard to find one single thing wrong with this hotel. This was my 3rd time visiting the Villagio, and it gets better every time.

Large clean rooms with full amenities and large bathrooms (double bed rooms are on the lower levels, king bed rooms are on the upper levels); a decadent gourmet breakfast served every morning from 7am - 10am (you need a full belly of food before drinking wine all day); a fantastic spa facility on property, including steam, dry sauna, outdoor whirlpool, indoor and outdoor fireplaces and relaxation areas; a more-than-adequate neighboring gym (more low-brow than high brow, with limited cardio equipment but with substantial weights); a heated pool with cabana service and outdoor hot tub; a location second-to-none, where you can walk to dinner every night (botegga, reddwood, redd, bouchon, the french laundry, etc...)(no driving required at night!); and you're in Yountville, which is 5 minutes from the southern side of the Silverado Trail, 5 minutes to Oakville, 10 minutes to St Helena, and 20 minutes to Calistoga.

Auberge du Soliel gets all of the press, and it is very nice. For twice the price.
Meadowood and Solage are also very nice. Also pricier and more remote.
The Villagio has everything you need, promotes walking at night, has a few tasting salons in the area (Hope & Grace, Beau Vigne), and a small market is right across the street for incidentals, water, snacks, etc..

You simply can't find a better place to stay for your short or long stays in Napa Valley...

Room Tip: Rooms closest to Washington Street, and to the spa and main lobby are the best locations. The resort...

Our third trip here. Rooms are large with the upstairs ones having high ceilings. Excellent breakfast The spa was very good. The massages were a little costly and the massages varied slot between masseuses. Wonderful location with many top restaurants and quick access to main Napa route 29

The Villagio is a lovely property. It abuts Rte 29 at the rear and there is traffic noise outdoors but the rooms are very quiet. We had room 103. Right near the pool and the Reception area where breakfast was served. The room itself is very pleasant with two armchairs and a desk chair. There was a bottle of wine waiting, a refrigerator - stocked with creamers for coffee, a Nespresso machine with espresso cups and a selection of capsules - replaced daily. Bottles of Evian every day too. My only quibble with the room was a soaking tub - shower combination that is very difficult to climb in and out of. Next time we will reserve a handicapped room that has a walk in shower. And just one more quibble. The shower itself was terrible. Hardly any pressure. I was happy to get home to my Grohe rain shower today. It wouldn't take much to upgrade those fixtures.

We spent 5 nights at The Villagio. The breakfasts are amazing. Omelets made to order, Mumm Napa for your Mimosa, great yogurt and granola, baked goods from Bouchon Bakery (I think), lots of fruit and much much more. Espresso bar too.

We spent a couple of afternoons in the shade by the pool- had lunch there one day, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. But the best thing is Mary, the Concierge, who got us reservations at The French Laundry. It really is the best restaurant in the US in my opinion. Went early at 5:30 which was perfect. Expensive but worth it! A must- do once ( or maybe twice). Thank you Mary for enabling a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: This property is large. I liked being near the pool and Reception. There were no children to speak o...

This hotel is perfectly located and perfectly designed to make you feel as though you never want to leave. The grounds are gorgeous and intimate, from the moment you walk into the lobby until you rest your head at night. The lobby, bar area, and pool area are the perfect size for a romantic getaway. The rooms are spacious and the bed is so, so comfortable. The bathroom was perfect, and we loved the Nespresso coffee maker. Across the street is Ad Hoc, and a few blocks down is Bouchon, and a few blocs past that is the French Laundry. There is no shortage of places to eat and drink, and the wineries are not a far drive. In the mornings I went for a run - there is a 2-mile circuit you can ask about at the front desk - and it takes you on some of the back roads through grape farms. Completely beautiful and pastoral. This was a tremendously beautiful stay for us.

The rooms are large and include a fireplace and a balcony. They had a nice bottle of wine in the room and a bottle of champagne to celebrate my birthday. The pool area is nice. They have an awesome breakfast which includes an egg station, pastries, fruit, potatoes, mimosas and much more. They offer cookies, croissants, tea etc. from 3:00-5:00. Walking distance to many wine tasting rooms and restaurants including Hurleys and Bottega Ristorante in Yountville. Great location since it is near many vineyards.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 225 and we didn't have any noise from Hwy. 29. So, ask for a room that isn...

We stayed two nights here and would have been happy to stay longer. The rooms were large and had a separate dressing room and bathroom, plus tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The resort has a very nice pool and spa area with comfy day beds and lots of pillows - this is a very relaxing area and was well utilised by the guests.
Breakfasts here were fantastic with every culinary need attended to! A chef was on hand to cook you any type of eggs - omelette or scrambled and there were lots of yummy combinations available. Each afternoon the resort offered a complimentary afternoon tea buffet which was appreciated after a day of cycling! A really lovely place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor with a sunny balcony.

We stayed at the Villagio for 3 nights in July, we absolutely love the hotel. The bathrooms aren't grand but the rest of the room and the grounds are pristine. We had the hotel concierge plan a wine tour for us based on which wineries we wanted to visit, and we were just thrilled with the itinerary that she had put together. A beautiful limo for four, private tastings and barrel tastings, it far exceeded our expectations. We couldn't have been more pleased with the hotel, the service and Yountiville.
