Description: Chef Michael Chiarello has returned to his culinary roots by creating seasonal farm-to-table Italian cuisine reflecting the bold flavors of Chiarello’s heritage in his signature style 1st made famous at Tra Vigne in the 90’s. An award winning chef/vintner & Food Network host, Chiarello celebrates his Italian roots and the Napa Valley with a menu echoing his long practice of using the finest locally/sustainably produced food. Located in Yountville, in the heart of the Napa Valley, Bottega’s extensive wine list represents hard-to-find favorites of the Valley and interesting Italian selections. Chiarello restored the integrity of an old 1800’s estate by uncovering beautiful hard wood floors, timber beams, old brick walls and windows. The inviting dining room is accented with reclaimed antiques, warm fabrics and eclectic light fixtures lending to the restaurant’s old world comfort.

“Expectations fell short”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

Like others hsve said before me reservations on line go a long way so be warned if you just decidr to roll in
Even with a resetvation i think there is s bit of favoritism thst goes on in geting a good table. I came on time with a party of four and was sent to a table on the patio. for some this may be romantic but this patio has no view and is where they appear to send parties with kids or larger noisier people. That night thry hsf an outdoor event in the square. The patio was so loud you could not hear yourself and to eat listening to the Macarana tune was too much befire the water came we requested a table indoors. Behold there was one ready. So why would they send us to the worst one first? You figure it out,
The food wss very good in general but I wad missing the wow factor you psych yourself to expect when going to a place with a top chef in the background. This is no Gordon Ramsey establishment.
Prices are within the range of what yu should expect. It is a popular place but one i will pass on the next time

“Serious Italian in a Fun Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

I've been a fan of Michael Chiarello for years and enjoy cooking from his cookbooks. It was great fun to finally go to his restaurant, Bottega, and enjoy some of his wonderful recipes prepared by professionals. The place is large and open, full of life and good fun - we're looking forward to another opportunity to visit again, soon we hope!

“Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

We didn't have reservations on a Friday afternoon. My wife called and the closest available time was 1:30. We had a tasting at 2:30 at a winery so that did not allow enough time to get to the tasting. We figured we'll go and worst would wait or could find a seat at the bar (or go some place else). We arrived and were seated right away with no reservations. It wasn't too busy but after we sat down and got through our meal lunchtime picked up. Now I'm not saying that it's like that everytime, but I'm thinking they probably do keep some open tables.

My wife had the shaved brussels sprout salad and loved it. She had the Orecchiette alla Vongole. I had the grilled octopus to start and then had the Cavatteli e Gamberoni. Very good meal. Happy that we were able to seat us and experience a nice meal at a very highly exposed restaurant.

“Amazing Dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

I would travel to Yountville just to have dinner here. The food is amazing [try the short ribs].
My wife was tickled by their chocolate martini.
Their adjoining cooking store is a treasure!

“In before the earthquake--nice start to our week in Napa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2014

We had dinner at Bottega Napa Valley, Yountville on Sunday, August 17th after a long flight into San Francisco and drive up to Napa (just about 1.25 hours to the restaurant). We had made reservations well before coming out for an early seating at 5:30 pm and I was surprised to see how full the restaurant was at that time. We were welcomed and seated promptly. An appetizer of calamari along with the heirloom tomato salads were a nice start to the meal. We selected a bottle of the Giana Zinfandel (one of the Chiarello vineyard wines), a 91 point (WS) wine for $65.00 (a mark-up of only $10 or so from the retail)....very nice zinfandel which went well with everyone's meal. We had the Tagliarini Bolognese, Ricotta Gnocchi della Nonna and Frutti di Mare in Acqua Pazza (black cod, gulf prawns, clams, calamari and mussels in white wine tomato broth). The food was delicious!
