“Amazing Resort-best in Napa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

I originally had booked us at the Vilagio Resort and Spa up the street. I cancelled my reservation there after reading about this hotel. I was attracted to the size and location and I am thrilled we changed to this resort. They call them self a "lodge", but I would definitely consider this a resort. It's very quaint and personal. We stayed in the room #8 "Cabernet Suite"! Beautiful room with huge bathroom, garden tub ( be careful it's so big you can get lost in it), nice sitting area, fabulously large comfy king size bed and huge bonus fireplace which we used every night. The staff have all been so friendly and accommodating! Our view was of the pool and bocce court and was very nice. We have spent 6 nights here and could not of enjoyed our stay as much if we had stayed at the Villagio! I know this because we stopped by and checked it out around 6:30, though they were having a complimentary wine tasting which is a nice perk, it was very crowded, loud and not at all the relaxing atmosphere you will find at Napa Valley Lodge. Easy walking distant to several amazing places to eat (Circco was our favorite) . Only thing I would change would be 2nd floor and vineyard view. Our friends were here for 3 nights with us and had a standard vineyard room. Very nice room and amazing private view. If the guests above you are early risers or night owls its a bit noisy, but not terrible. Breakfast delivered each morning was wonderful ( love the granola)! Kudos to the owner and staff of this beautiful place! We can not wait to return!!

Room Tip: #8Cabernet Suite

Stayed here while doing wine country for 4 days, 3 nights. Super convenient location, very clean, wonderful service, experience and loved the healthy breakfast included. Was also great that there were so many places within walking distance. Town was also very scenic for morning and evening strolls.

Trying to find a cheaper place to stay in Yountville is a challenge. This lodge is not directly in downtown Yountville so if feel you must be in the center of town, then this is not for you. If you are willing to make a slight walk into town you can have a great buy at a much lower price. The checkin was easy and the staff was very helpful, including getting me paper towels to check the oil on my motorcycle. The room was first class with plenty of room and very comfortable bed. The enclosed courtyard contained the pool or tables where you can just relax and read. They have someone in the courtyard to bring you water or take your food/drink order. Their breakfast was described as a modified continental and I expected a fancy but meager breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent choice of food, including champagne for a mimosa. This was a place that I hated to leave. I would definitely recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Yountville.

Room Tip: Get a room with a courtyard view

Stayed here for 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend 2013 for our 30th wedding anniversary. We were upgraded to the Merlot suite and had a bottle of local red wine waiting in our room. I had also ordered fresh flowers which my wife thought were wonderful. Location is great with easy access to highway, and easy 10 minute walk to shops and restaurants in town. Nice fireplace in room. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Great room, great grounds, great service. Yountville is a fantastic place if you like food, and food and wine related culture. Napa Valley Lodge is good because it is of the highest quality but also quite simple and unaffected. It is on the edge of town and so is a short (5 mins) walk in, without feeling like you are in the centre all the time. It is like Tuscany removed to California: a great combination.

The location is perfect; right on the edge of Yountville, and a short walk from shopping and dining, but far enough away that you can enjoy the quite and beauty of the surrounding vineyards. A new restaurant just opened across the street, and the food is terrific. Very important to me, it is also half a block from Pancha's, the best dive bar in the Napa Valley. Everything is well put together in the hotel, and the bed was very comfortable. Our room had it's own little patio overlooking a vineyard; a refreshing change from windows that don't open (a pet peeve about most hotels). Breakfast was fresh and well seasoned, and the staff was very helpful and polite.

I recently traveled to Napa Valley for the first time in over ten years. Based on prior excellent experiences, we again chose the Napa Valley Lodge. It was better than we remembered. The rooms had been remodeled since our last stay. Very well done. The breakfast served each morning was excellent, the location is perfect, the room was great. What's not to like?
