“Relaxing stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

What a great little find! I'm so glad we stayed here for our brief visit to napa. As we were on our honeymoon, they upgraded our room to a suite with a huge jacuzzi bath! Heavenly. Service was impeccable. I love the hot tub outside - great place to enjoy napa sunset in style. it is conveniently located for all the wine tasting rooms and great restaurants in yountville. We had such a lovely time there, even though we probably spent more money than we would have liked. But we found napa in general very expensive, so I guess within this context, what we paid for the room was reasonable. I did a bit of research before booking this place, and it is cheaper than many other similar hotels in the areas. In sum, we had a memorable time and will definitely stay here again next time we are in napa.

We stayed here for three nights in the Merlot Suite. Yountville is definitely the place to stay in the Napa Valley. Small quiet town with the best restaurants in the valley. The lodge is well appointed; our suite was beautiful. Staff were couteous and helpful. The lodge is restful and calm even though it's close to the highway. Easy walk to everything in Yountville. The pool and surrounding area is great after a day of touring. If you're in a suite you can have breakfast delivered but we found that a better selection was available if we joined others in the serving room.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of the pool and grounds. If you go for the vineyard view you will also be...

We spent three nights at The Napa Valley Lodge. The hotel location is not as convenient as most others in Yountville in terms of walking distance to the many great restaurants for dinner when the ladies are in heals but we used the shuttle. The staff at the front dest were polite and accommodating.

Most of the rooms do not have a bath tub which for a hotel of this caliber one would expect. The rooms are spacious and there is enough space to include a bath with a more thoughtful design. The pool area is very nice with plenty of seating and fire pit. The breakfast is adequate but with a few tweaks here and there could be first class. The staff has a hard time keeping up with the demand and there always seemed to be a few items that were low and need replenishing.

There were a few small things that could have improved our stay and again they are small. First, the hotel advertises on their website a certain brand of products but they provide a different brand. I realize this is to many is not a big deal and nick picky. I would argue that an establishment should not advertise and use the name and image of one brand and not deliver that product to all of their clientele. We called the front desk to ask about this discrepancy and they tried to sell us on why the new products are better. They may be right about the new products they are providing but it's not what they advertise and if I were a betting person I bet the new products are less expensive. I suggest the hotel quit advertising the other products on their website and the problem is solved.

When we arrived, it seemed as if our room had not been vacuumed as there were chunks of dirt on the carpet floor. On the second night of our three night stay we did not receive turn down service. The next morning we informed the front desk of the oversight which they said they appreciated and would make sure we received turned down the following night. As you can guess, when we returned from dinner the third night the room had not been touched. Again, many would argue that we are just being too picky. I argue that a hotel charging these rates and advertising a certain level of service should under promise and over deliver. To their credit when I went to checkout and explained that they failed to provide turn down service again the front desk manager provided a $30.00 credit. Interestingly we tipped the maids for cleaning our room (which we always do) while the couple next door did not but received turn down service all three nights. Go figure.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to others.

Great lodge in the middle of this beautiful area. The suite was amazing and the staff was first rate. I highly recommend this hotel. A short 5 minute stroll takes you right into Yountsville and all it's restaurants and yes, more wine tasting! Highly recommend you take a tour as that way you can drink, enjoy, and just have a wonderful time. The front desk can set this all up for you.

Have a blast, I know we did.

Room Tip: Suites are very nice but you will pay a bit more, very worth it though.

We spent two nights at the Napa Valley Lodge in Yountville as part of our four day trip to the California wine country. I have to say WOW! The staff was so friendly and accommodating down to every detail, from recommending great places to see and eat, to providing for our every need. The rooms are spacious and like home (our style anyway) very comfortable, contemporary French style. The grounds were amazing, great pool, free bikes. The town of Yountville is beyond charming and walkable from the Lodge, don't forget to ask for turn down service, awesome...the breakfast was everything we needed....we will be back, this was a trip to remember for so many reasons but top of the list was the Lodge.

Thank you.

BL, Huntersville NC

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the courtyard and pool are the best.....

Napa Valley Lodge is in the heart of the wine country and a perfect location for wine tasting. This was our fourth stay and we noticed some nice updates and improvements in our rooms, the swimming pool facilities, landscaping and the buffet breakfast. The staff is always friendly and quick to offer helpful information. It's within walking distance of the Yountville shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit.
Note: ask for a room on the second floor.

Very nice for the price, all the hotels in Yountville are pricey so you have to expect that going into it...but Napa Valley Lodge was a little more affordable than most and still right in the mix of everything in this cute little town. The service was good, the rooms were a pretty nice size, the complimentary breakfast was a great part of the package, and you're right next to a vineyard!! My family and I really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others.
