“Great hotel and great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

We stayed in the Bella Vist Suite and it was stunning! Large bedroom huge bathroom with a large shower and roomy soaker tub. There was a sitting room with an extra TV. Also an amazing balcony that looks out over the vineyard. The view blew us away. The finishes are high end and beautiful. We have come here every year for our birthdays the last three years. The people who work here are helpful and nice and made the whole trip even better. I can't say enough great things about this place :)

Room Tip: The rooms facing the vineyard are the best!

Had a lovely, sunny weekend in Napa recently. We returned to the Napa Valley Lodge after a pleasant visit about nine years earlier, and were greeted by a friendly receptionist who was able to check us in early. Initially offered a room on the first floor, our request to be upstairs was quickly accommodated. The room was as we had hoped, with all the typical amenities except for a safe for our valuables (tho we didn't inquire further after not finding one in the room). The only unusual thing about our room was the layout of the bathroom, which seemed a little awkward with the sink on one side and the toilet on the other side of a wall. The included breakfast was served in a lovely room off the pool, and was quite good and offered a variety of food. The location of the Lodge offered us the opportunity to walk to most of our meals and wine tasting experiences, having received some good suggestions from the hotel staff. All in all a great weekend.

Dear librarylady94942,

Thank you very much for paying us a return visit. It was very nice to see that after nine years, you still remembered your stay with us and that we were able to assist in making this return visit another positive experience.

With regard to your comment on the in-room safe, I wanted to let you know that we are adding new safes to all of our guestrooms right now. I’m sorry that room you stayed in did not have it installed in time for your visit.

Hopefully it won’t be another decade before we welcome you back, but please be assured that when we do, your room will have a safe in it!

Warmest regards,

Tim

We stayed here for 3 nights in August and I really couldn't have asked for more. Check in was efficient. Our room was on the first floor and the room was spacious, luxurious and comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed. The fireplace in the room was a nice touch and we did use it one night for ambience. My wife and I sat out on the patio in the morning for coffee and had some wine there in the evening.
The breakfast buffet was very complete with everything from eggs and waffles to meats and cheeses.
I made use of the jacuzzi one night and wound up meeting some nice couples and had a great time. There were a number of fire pits with gas logs, and while we did not spend much time using them, I could see relaxing there with a nice bottle or dessert wine.
Yountville is fairly central and was very convenient for a number of wineries we visited. Also the restaurants in Yountville are simply the best. We were lucky enough to get reservations to the French Laundry and could have walked there (if my wife hadn't worn heels).

While there is nothing "wrong" with this hotel, for the type of money they charge (and I'm talking big dollars), one has the right to expect to be catered to, even pampered. This is not the case. The staff is friendly and accommodating, but at times they were not even around let alone being available to offer the type of service that other hotels of this price range offer. The hotel itself is fine with a nice pool area and decent rooms, but again, even the rooms don't scream big money. What the NVL does has is location and it has that in spades. In the middle of the valley and with easy access to roads, directly across the street from NV Bike Tours and within easy walking distance of many, many excellent restaurants (including The French Laundry). So, if you are willing to pony up the money, know that you are doing so for the location, not for a high end hotel.

Dear TravelsWithChildren,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. While I am pleased that you found the staff friendly and accommodating, I was sorry to learn that it was not enough to exceed your expectations. At the Napa Valley Lodge, we pride ourselves on the personalized service that we can provide for our guests and we are disappointed when we are not successful. We will certainly take your comments to heart as we strive to exceed the service needs of our guests.
Sincerely,
Tim

Had a wonderful few days in Napa, where we were happily ensconced at the Napa Valley Lodge. Large, handsomely appointed suite. Good amenities. Friend staff. All you could want for a stay in the wine country

Room Tip: Friends went with all. All the rooms seem great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We loved the upgraded suite with its view of the gardens and pool area. The room was well apppointed with beautiful fiireplace, perfect king size bed and luxurious, well appointed bathroom. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very fresh and well prepared. We have already told many of our friends about experience here. Keep up the good work. We will be back.

this hotel is right beside the motorway.. that is the only down side of the property. I don't know why there are a few bad reviews for this hotel because it was lovely. nice pool area. Lovely elegant rooms. great bathroom, could maybe do with a few more TV channels. kids had free WIFI. Really lovely beds.. great price , around $ 220 . Receptionist very nice.... would be delighted to stay here again. Pity it was raining. Decent breakfast included too which is not normally included in this standard of hotels in USA. Yeap.. good one here and would be delighted to recommend it to anyone. We stay with kids with 2 queen beds but would be a lovely romantic hotel as a couple..
