We stayed here for 3 nights in August and I really couldn't have asked for more. Check in was efficient. Our room was on the first floor and the room was spacious, luxurious and comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed. The fireplace in the room was a nice touch and we did use it one night for ambience. My wife and I sat out on the patio in the morning for coffee and had some wine there in the evening.
The breakfast buffet was very complete with everything from eggs and waffles to meats and cheeses.
I made use of the jacuzzi one night and wound up meeting some nice couples and had a great time. There were a number of fire pits with gas logs, and while we did not spend much time using them, I could see relaxing there with a nice bottle or dessert wine.
Yountville is fairly central and was very convenient for a number of wineries we visited. Also the restaurants in Yountville are simply the best. We were lucky enough to get reservations to the French Laundry and could have walked there (if my wife hadn't worn heels).

While there is nothing "wrong" with this hotel, for the type of money they charge (and I'm talking big dollars), one has the right to expect to be catered to, even pampered. This is not the case. The staff is friendly and accommodating, but at times they were not even around let alone being available to offer the type of service that other hotels of this price range offer. The hotel itself is fine with a nice pool area and decent rooms, but again, even the rooms don't scream big money. What the NVL does has is location and it has that in spades. In the middle of the valley and with easy access to roads, directly across the street from NV Bike Tours and within easy walking distance of many, many excellent restaurants (including The French Laundry). So, if you are willing to pony up the money, know that you are doing so for the location, not for a high end hotel.

Had a wonderful few days in Napa, where we were happily ensconced at the Napa Valley Lodge. Large, handsomely appointed suite. Good amenities. Friend staff. All you could want for a stay in the wine country

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We loved the upgraded suite with its view of the gardens and pool area. The room was well apppointed with beautiful fiireplace, perfect king size bed and luxurious, well appointed bathroom. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very fresh and well prepared. We have already told many of our friends about experience here. Keep up the good work. We will be back.
