“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

We chose this Best Western because of its proximity to UC Davis and the Sacramento airport. It is a pleasant motel--nothing fancy, but very serviceable. Easy access to I-5. While I didn't use the pool or Jacuzzi, the patio area looked nice. Many restaurants and other amenities within a few miles.

Quiet location at the edge of town in Woodland. A great stop if you're enroute to wine country. Local diner is a good value. It's the perfect stop over if you're headed north into the heart of the Napa valley.

The staff was friendly and accommodating but the hotel is basically at a truck stop....not such a favorable attribute. Our room was nice and the bed and shower was all we really needed and the breakfast was inferior to any other Best Western we've ever stayed at. We would not stay here again.

Like some other reviewers, we are repeat customers here. It's the perfect location for us when flying out of the Sacramento airport. Ten minutes and you're there. Grounds are immaculate and well groomed, pool and hot tubs pleasing, and rooms tastefully done and clean. Bed comfort in our room was just average for this class of motel. Minor grumbles: Room layout is strange, with extra room between the beds and the table crammed up against the air conditioner. On an extremely hot day, the cooling is adequate but you can't really chill the room. And the only restaurant anywhere nearby is the adjacent diner (a converted Denny's) that serves ample amounts of mediocre food at value prices.

Our line of work requires that we stay in hotels for long periods of time and we have been doing this for over 25 years. When we found out we were going to be staying in Woodland for possibly 6 months or more I sat down to all the reviews of this particular hotel. Although they were mixed we took the plunge and made the reservation. We really lucked out. The staff is great, in fact the maintenance men make sure that myself and my children are safe and secure. The rooms are clean, large, and comfortable. There is a continental breakfast with great coffee. The grounds of the hotel are impeccable with a clean pool and two clean hot tubs. It is true that the hotel is situated off the freeway but the noise was never an issue for us. There is a laundry room which I personally appreciated as well. The only thing I can say in the negative about this place is that it looks dated from the outside but dont let that fool you. It is worth the price.

I usually do not stay in Best Westerns that aren't Plus or Priemier, but this was an exception. This is probably the best Best Western in which I've ever stayed -period. Right off freeway. The cleanest room and grounds by far - and that includes Sheratons and Westins! Although it is older, it is updated (granite countertops) and our King room was huge facing the inside courtyard and beautiful pool area. The staff was super friendly and helpful giving us a wonderful restaurant in town (#428) in which to dine. Their "continental breakfast" actually had make your own waffles with other cereals, doughnuts, hard-boiled eggs, etc.

This motel has a very good location, just off Interstate 5, near Sacramento Airport. It is outside the town of Woodland, surrounded by farm fields, and shares a parking lot with a restaurant (we didn't go there) and a gas station. Most of the guests seemed to be traveling families plus some truckers. We stayed there to visit our son at the University of California, Davis, which is about a 15 minute drive from the motel. Staff was excellent, friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and mostly comfortable, with a microwave and refrigerator. The included continental breakfast was basic, but adequate: cereal, waffles, bagels, muffins, doughnuts, fruit, juice. The pool area is quite pleasant. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because of a couple of problems. I had some trouble with the wireless, which was not very reliable in my room (but fine outside and in the lobby), and the pillows were so thick they hurt my neck, so I ended up just using a pile of towels (the bed was comfortable otherwise, with a firm mattress). The main problem, though, was that the air conditioning was very noisy and kept me awake: it cycled on and off loudly and repeatedly until we turned it off. The weather was not too hot when we were there, but that might be a problem in the heat of summer. I would go back, but probably not in August.
