This was an overnight stop for us. The hotel was selected based on AAA's three star rating -- but it barely rated two stars. This is an old facility and it looks like it is being upgraded -- but not in a professional way with trash all around. The lights were so dim in the room that we couldn't read. The bathroom handles were ready to fall off the toilet and the shower. The "continental" breakfast was so bad we didn't eat it.

Picked this hotel because it was halfway between Sac airport and UC Davis. Easy to get to but the front desk person acted like he would rather be anywhere but there. Almost surly in his attitiude. Wireless access is awful (starts at 54Mbps and drops down and stays at 1 (!!) Mbps) after that or disconnects often). No info about connecting in the room - had to call the desk and talk to the ride guy again.
Room is big and clean but stuffy - I couldn't open the window. For almost $90 with tax you would be better off staying somewhere else.
There is a Comfort Inn and Motel 6 in the same parking lot. You could probably do as well better with those.

Let me first say that I travel a lot, I have stayed in many hotels, and I have had many experiences. I found this hotel to be a good experience mainly because it was clean and quiet. I checked in, took a shower, ate at a nice mexican restaurant (suggested by the font desk guy), did some paper work, slept well, and had their free breakfast in the morning before departing....all for less than 75 bucks. Also, I was able to connect onto their free wireless internet with no problem.

There was nothing "scary" about this place....I don't know what the last reviewer is talking about. It is people like him/her that disturb the customers by "sleeping with the lights and television on."

Anyway, I was happy with my stay and I will go there again for my next business trip in that area. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the airport..... I didn't rank this hotel 5/5 because they don't have free shuttle transportation from the airport....but I was told that they might be offering it soon.

The front desk lady seemed nice on the phone and I confirmed my reservation the day before I checked in, only to be hassled by a different staff person the day I arrived.

I honestly was frightened staying on the property, as the clientele wasn't exactly to my taste. And the fact that a rule sheet on the wall saying that guests must wear "proper attire" at all times made me feel the guests really were less than savory people. I didn't feel safe leaving anything in my car. I slept with the lights and television on.

The door had at least 3 locks, but it didn't shut properly. The key didn't work properly, either, it took 5 minutes to get into my room. There were stains on the carpets, hairs in the shower, and the "sanitized" paper they wrap around the toilet to tell the new guest it's a clean toilet lies--it looked as if someone had cut their hair into the toilet and spit in it before I even got there.

I literally got up at 5am just so I could leave as early as possible... find another hotel.
