We found this motel on our last night of a 26 day trip through California, Oregon and Washington while returning to San Francisco on the I-5. The setting was wonderful, rose gardens surrounding a pool with mature gum trees around the site. The gardens wre full of birds ( many feeders ) as was a creek nearby.
It was far enough from the I-5 to be really peaceful. The room was very comfortable and the price was very moderate at $34 with the usual features of fridge and microwave oven but no hair dryer or other extras but this was undoubtedly the best motel of our trip, better than many at twice the price.
For any travellers on the I-5 this was well worth a visit.

We stopped at the Blue Gum Motel because we wanted a quiet place to stay on old 99 in northern California. We were not disappointed! The room was quite large, very clean, and included a refrigerator and microwave. There is also a nice swimming pool for folks who stay there when it is a warmer season. The staff was very friendly. Local calls are free. Usual amenities of soap, shampoo, coffee were provided. They have a website with pictures that are accurate of the nice landscaping and rooms. We plan on staying there again when we travel through the area.
