“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2008

We had a short but lovely stay at this hotel. We got a great deal -- $129 on a Saturday night in July -- for a very nice room. There was a kitchen with brand new appliances, a separate living room, balcony, separate bedroom and nice attached bathroom. The room came with two flat screen televisions. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes of every kind, paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, etc. You also get complimentary coffee, tea, microwave popcorn, etc. The bathroom was nice, with an amazing shower head. Everything was clean and new.

Although we did not take advantage of these things, they do offer free drinks/snacks from 5:30-7 or so every night, and a free hot breakfast. They also accept pets, although at a $100 non-refundable cleaning deposit rate, it wasn't worth it for us for just one night. We boarded our dog back home for cheaper than that. They also have coin-op laundry facilities available, but those cost $3 per load if you're using both washer and dryer.

The hotel is very centrally located, near Westlake Village shopping and restaurants, and Highway 23 and 101. There is plenty of parking available as well.

My only complaints are that we asked for the AAA rate ($6 off) at check in and were told that would be factored in. But then we were given express check out without the discount. We were in a hurry to get on the road so didn't bother stopping at the front desk to let them know about this. My other complaint is that the channel menu on their televisions weren't working.

This was not a big deal because the staff was friendly and available to us when needed. Also, my fiance left his cell phone charger at the hotel, and they found it and returned it. This was not the case at another hotel we stayed at earlier this year, where we left a pair of expensive sunglasses in the room and they were not found (or not returned) by the housekeeping staff.

Very nice, new Residence Inn with convenient access to the freeway. There are a few restaurants nearby, which was convenient, but the kitchens do close early. The room (I had a suite) was extremely comfortable with a kitchenette, plenty of room to stretch out, and flatscreen TVs. The bedroom was a little small, but having the living room more than made up for it.

The internet choices were interesting - lower speeds for free, higher speeds for cost. The lower speeds made it very difficult to get into my company VPN -- I wished they would have simply had wireless.

Breakfast was ok, I hit the tail-end of the rush (7:45) and things were either a little steamed or a little stale.

The staff is extremely nice and the pool/courtyard looked relaxing.

This was a relatively new Residence Inn. We stayed here one night (04/19/2008). The room was very nice though it did seem that the bed room was smaller than at other Residence Inn’s. We got a King Suite, two rooms. The first room was the living room and Kitchen. I like the look of the kitchen with the stainless steel and cherry wood. The living room had a HDTV flat screen with HDTV channels. In the second room was the bedroom with King Bed and bathroom. There was also an HDTV flat screen in this room. Overall the room was great and very clean. We asked for a quiet room and they placed us on the 4th floor facing the court yard. Even with the quiet room when we had the window open we could still hear the noise from the freeway which is close by.
The lobby is very nice and the staff were helpful. The breakfast area seemed to be a little too close for quarters and they only had one waffle machine which some caused some backup in the morning.
Overall I would recommend this hotel.

stayed at this hotel for 14 days on business and it seemed like a vacation.Tha staff is so friendly and helpful with faxing and directions. The free breakfast had a full breakfast variety every day and the kitchen staff was so helpful in the evening they had a full small dinner servrd buffett and it looked more like a social gathering then a boring hotel. My room had a kitchen 2 plazma tv's one in the small living room with sofa desk etc and one in the bedroom,It was decorated so nice with a great view of the mountains.I ate at Dakota's next door 5 times.they have great food also drove 20 minutes to Malibu the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other side make a very scenic trip. You will have to rent a car because except for Dakota's all the restsurants are about a 5 miute drive.

  • Liked — I travel on business a lot but this business trip was like a vavcation
  • Disliked — get a room close to the elavator or it is a longer walk

We had a very good stay at this hotel on 2 separate occasions in October. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was above average. Our only complaint was that the room was VERY small - tiny in fact. We had a 1 bedroom suite and you literally could not close the door if the bed had been one inch longer. So overall this is a great place to stay for 1-2 nights, but if you're going to be in the area any longer than that, I would look for a place with more spacious rooms.

Very nice hotel, new in August. I was in the area on business and my wife acompanied me for some down time so I wanted a nicer hotel than normal. Location is excellent, north of LA and convenient to Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, and other areas. Rooms are very nice, we booked the 1-bedroom, separate bedroom, bathroom off the bedroom, vanity is outside the bathroom. Water pressure is good, icemaker in full-size refrig, dishwasher, sink, disposal in kitchen. Flat-panel HD TV in living room and in bedroom - very nice!
The pillows are absolutely amazing, and the bed is the most comfortable hotel bed we've experienced. The Dakota steak house is located next door and is an excellent restaurant - 4 ****. Would recommend the Marriott for business travelers and tourists alike. No shopping or dining in immediate area (other than Dakota's), drive approx. 5 min to next Rt 101 North exit for small plazas and restaurants, and a nice mall is another exit north.

  • Liked — Bed/pillow comfort and 2 flat panel TVs
  • Disliked — No bars in immediate area, must drive to bars, restaurants
