“Super”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Quite a special place. A bit pricey but well worth it. Service is excellent. Cocktails are perfect and food is beyond fab. Always feel special and the anything that can be done is being done. A wonderful place to celebrate any special event or just treat yourself.

“Top Notch Dining In Westlake Village”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

Every bit as good if not better than the original in Beverly Hills, the Grill On The Alley in Westlake Village provides a dynamic and upscale dining experience in the suburbs. On a recent night the soft shell crab appetizer I enjoyed was as good as any I've had. You'd need to fly to Virginia for fresher better tasting crab. My steak was also excellent and perfectly cooked. My wife had a Chilean Sea bass diner that looked great and which she enjoyed too.
Our servers were uniformly good and service was quick, efficient and friendly.
It's expensive but as someone else below said no more so than a Morton's or a Ruth's Chris and I think this place is better than both of those.

“Night out in Westlake Village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

The Grill is nothing like its counterpart (the Grill in the Alley) in Beverly Hills. This is much bigger, busier and has great bar scene and convenient outdoor patio. It is pricey but no more than a Ruth Chris, Maestro or Morton's but better than all three by far for service and steak. I have never had much luck when ordering fish it is always dry and tasteless so skip that. go to Roy's if you want a fish meal instead. Jay the GM will always try to accommodate you (I have known him for 15+ years when he used to run Allessio) and the staff are extremely attentive. this is a wonderful restaurant for a celebration, romantic dinner or for hanging out with the girls at the bar. It has something for everyone in that regard. Wine list has plenty of variety and prices are what you would expect for a good steak house. Don't miss out on their house cocktails which are a great way to start the meal. There is a large patio but it does look over the parking lot.

“Maybe The Best Short Ribs In SoCal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

Party of four and with one small hiccup, excellent meals all around.

I had the short ribs. I was presented with two huge ribs, bone in. (I don't know why some
restaurants brag about bonelss short ribs. Oxymoron and takes away most of the flavor.) Anyway, they were perfectly cooked and covered with a flavorful sauce. Two guests had fish dishes and one chicken. All were very happy with his or her selections.

The small distraction was the popcorn shrimp. It had a strong, fishy smell and taste. Perhaps it was the seasoning, but it was the one sour note.

The service was spot on; the dark wood room was relatively quiet. The wine list was extensive but the prices are on the high end.

I want to go back and try the steak. You should too. It is definitely not cheap so you may want to save it for a special occasion, but go.

“Good food, good service, great evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The ambiance was nice, quieter than many restaurants, and the service was fine. The food was excellent, and the daily specials menu was very good value. The food was excellent and we are looking forward to returning.
