The room service and restaurant food at the Sunset tower was exceptional. And prompt. I stayed there for a total of 6 days during August of 2007. I've stayed at several area hotels and the food at the Sunset Towers stands out. Eating breakfast on the patio by the pool was a treat. The service was friendly and attentive. The food is very expensive though. ($16 for a bowl of Oatmeal)I would not stay there unless I was on an expense account.

One tip - if you want to sleep ask for a room on a high floor. The hotel often hosts parties during the week and I found my room on the 5th floor to be very loud. Between 11 pm - 2 am) The beds are very comfortable.

We just returned from a stay of 6 nights at the Sunset Tower Hotel - a small, boutique hotel in West Hollywood. The room, food and service were all excellent - but the personnel were outstanding: always warm, and ready to help with anything they could do ! That's what makes a trip memorable for me . Stayed at the hotel for 3 days for a business trip to Cedars Sinai. Great room with a really comfortable bed and a great flat screen TV. Staff is very attentive and always called me by name. Breakfast was great sitting out by the pool overlooking the LA area. Room temperature stayed even and was easy to control. Bathtub was long and narrow. Shower was part of the tub system and wow does it have lots of water pressure, so much that I turned it on about 1/2 the way to make it better for me. No noise and slept like a baby! Great treats at nighttime turn down service. Mini bar replenished daily, which doesn't happen very often at many places anymore. The outside of the hotel reminds me of the tower of terror rides at amusement parks, but the inside is beautiful! I would stay there again, next time I am in the area.

My partner and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Sunset Tower, and cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. While some consider the "Sunset Strip" to be quite a frenetic and somewhat loud area of town, the Sunset Tower is (without sounding cliche), a true oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The valet service was fast and personal -- after calling for the car, it was waiting for us before we even reached the ground level, throughout our stay. The ambiance is exactly as it is advertised -- true deco style, and a definite throwback to "old Hollywood" without being overdone or ostentatious. Our room was a junior suite, with floor to ceiling windows that open wide, views of the Hollywood Hills and downtown Los Angeles, two plasma TVs, a huge bathroom with designer products and a tub that easily fits more than one. Rooms were sparkling clean and housekeeping was impeccable. Turndown service was exceptional, with all new towels in the bathroom, and brownies at the bedside. The gym on the first floor is a bit small, but completely adequate. The pool area is very relaxing, with incredible views over LA, soft lounge chairs and fluffy towels. Having breakfast in the morning, overlooking the pool and city proved a terrific way to start the day. Later on, you will definitely want to grab a cocktail in the Tower Bar -- a fantastic place to relax and enjoy great drinks, while listening to excellent jazz combos. Drinks even cost considerably less than we are used to paying in NYC, so that is a bonus as well. You are also likely to spot a celebrity or two as well (if you care about that kind of thing.) We are fairly well traveled, and this is the first time we have written a review for Trip Advisor, but wanted to share what was a 100% positive experience at this hotel.
