Loved this hotel on the Sunset Strip. Classy lobby, great service and nice views. We had a 'Deluxe King Guestroom' on an upper floor, away from the street (though could still hear a little street noise). The room was moderate in size, not large, but beautifully appointed, and very light. The bathrooms are stocked with great Kiehl's products. The bed was somewhat softer than I like, but fine.
The pool, whilst small, is very sunny in the afternoon. The gym is much better equipped than I'd anticipated, with about five or six cardio machines and other equipment. (For a more serious workout, Crunch gym is a few blocks down the street, and it gives hotel guests a discount.)
We had dinner at the Tower Bar, which was buzzy but not too loud. The food was good. A small ensemble and a fireplace set the scene. A healthy, fresh buffet breakfast (surprisingly well-priced) is served in The Terrace, which opens out onto the pool.
As others have mentioned, the service was very good and friendly. Smart, helpful and efficient are the words I'd use to describe the staff.
We read reviews for alternative hotels in the area on TripAdvisor before deciding on this one. I like the fact it was an original Art Deco building that had a great history (as opposed to a modern building or a tricked-up building). I would definitely stay there again, and was very pleased with the choice.
