We visited LA for an August wedding and stayed at the lovely LeMontrose in West Hollywood, CA. It's the world's best kept secret, snuggled quietly in a residential area. We've never stayed at a hotel where we didn't have at least one complaint...NOT the LeMontrose. The suites are nicely decorated, quite large and roomy, and the step down from the bedroom into the sitting area is a nice feature with a railing that separates the two rooms. The bathroom is roomy with a large makeup counter away from the sink, wonderful makeup mirrors (2) a roomy closet and LOTS of drawer space throughout the suite. There's a comfortable sofa, chairs, desk w/ports for laptops, phones in every nook and cranny, a lovely glass top table and chairs, perfect size kitchen w/small refrigerator conveniently stocked w/water, juice, sodas and beer. A nice touch is the goody basket full of crackers, nuts and cookies when you get the munchy urge. Separating the livingroom from the kitchen is a counter w/high bar stools and a lovely view through the glass sliding doors onto the balcony. Even though it was summer the weather was cool in the mornings/evenings so we took advantage of the cozy fireplace..."push a button...instant fire." We relaxed with coffee and juice in the room and enjoyed the fireplace before going to the restaurant. The service was superb...never more than a ten minute wait for room service. Of course there would have been NO wait had we placed our breakfast selections on the easy to mark card on the door the night before. We kept our car in the garage and each time we called, it was ALWAYS waiting when we got to the front entrance. We thoroughly enjoyed the treadmill and saunas in the fitness center. It was small and cozy and we always met nice people. The entire hotel staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful. especially John Douponce, General Manager. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and HIGHLY recommend the LeMontrose!

Le Montrose is hands down the most unique property around - but keep it to yourself!

Whether I am checked in for a weekend getaway or an extended business trip I am always entertained by an unlikely blend of guests.

It's not uncommon to find yourself riding the elevator with an Oscar winning actor or a lead singer of Billboard's Top 10.

If the lobby loitering guest isn't a celebrity then they most likely are one of Hollywood's hottest producers, directors, stylists or publicists...

But it's all kept low key. And that's the way I like it.

Enough about the guests!

Le Montrose is the hotel I keep coming back (even after trying many others) because of the

-- great lcoation (1 block from Sunset Strip and 6 blocks from Santa Monica Bld)

-- incredible value

-- friendly service

-- great roomservice

-- beautiful rooftop pool with view

and most important to me...

- large rooms (step down living room, fireplace, kitchenette, desk (where I spend too much time) and balcony)

So give them a try - but keep it cool and don't ask for autographs. And PLEASE don't tell too many people!

I recently stayed at Le Montrose Suite Hotel for a couple of days with my family while vacationing out West. I had heard about the hotel through some friends who stay there pretty regularly while in LA on business. I must admit that when pulling up, I was a little skeptical as to how great a place it could be, especially with kids, but once inside you can't help but fall in love. Walking into the cozy European style lobby and not hearing “elevator music” playing was great, instead we heard some R&B and Rock favorites. The staff was very friendly and helpful from getting us dinner reservations to simply being patient with my young kids who sometimes thought the lobby and pool top was their personal playground. The location too was ideal for the kids who wanted to go to Universal Studios. When checking out I told the front desk staff how much we loved the place and they asked us to write a review for TripAdvisor if we got a chance... so here we are. Thanks guys for a wonderful stay!

This is a wonderful boutique hotel where the staff knows its guests and pays attention to every detail. It's a great base from which to work--suites contain fax, two phone lines, internet, vcrs, cd players, comfortable desks, etc., etc. There is also a private dining room for guests. And the accomodations are apartments, as opposed to 'a room.' (Should you be there for a romantic time, there are also working fireplaces--alas, =I'm= always there on business.)

Highly recommended. Writers: the service is like that of the old Algonquin in New York...the way the Gonk was thirtyyears ago.

Have stayed at Le Montrose many times, and will stay there many times again. Incredible service and very nice suite-type rooms for the price. A small, boutique type hotel with all the amenities of a large, full-scale property. Management and staff are very attentive to guests needs. Rooftop pool, spa/hottub and tennis courts are incredible. Very private, quiet in a nice residential setting on the border of Beverly Hills but close enough to Sunset/Santa Monica Blvd. to step right into the "action" with a short walk.
