Me and my Mom just stayed there for four days. She lives in Yuma Arizona and on my visot there we decided to visot LA. Are stay here was great. The front desk was wonderful we had a few minor problems not being there fault but they were quick to help us fix them. Always quick to greet you when you come down in the morning or returning in the evening. Cannot say enough good things about them. The restaurant is really good and very quick. The rooms are clean and very nice. I would most certainly stay here again if I return to LA.

My husband and I recently stayed at the "Le Montrose" in Hollywood.

First, my #1 reason for picking the hotel was the location. We were going to a concert at the Trabadour, and yahoo listed this hotel as the closest hotel. So I called the hotel and they told me they were ony 2 blocks from the venue. I then did the Tripadvisor price check and I checked the hotel's website as well. All of the prices were the same. Then when I called I asked for the AAA discount, and the price was $30 less than any website. SCORE!!!!

Then we checked in at 3:30. Sadly, the room they were going to give us on the 4th floor with a view of the city was not ready yet, but we were desperate to check into a room and not have to wait for the maid service. So, they gave us a room on the second floor with a view not worth looking out the window for. But, not a bid deal. Also, when driving to the hotel we saw that it was not a 2 block walk to the Trobadour, it was really 8/10 of a mile!

We immediately went to the rooftop pool and spa. It was wonderful and very relaxing. Here is some advice, turn on the spa 20-30 minutes before you plan on getting in it (because we sat in a ROMAN BATH temperature jacuzzi for almost 20 minutes, while it heated up).

Then we returned to the room and ordered room service. The service was very FAST, and we ordered a tuna melt. The fries were fabulous!

Next, we got ready for our concert. Luckily there was a taxi outside and it cost about $8 to get there, but it was worth not having to walk in heels.

The next morning we ordered room service again. My husband ordered 2 eggs, potatoes, and bacon. He ordered eggs over easy, but scrambled arrived :( I ordered the peanut butter and jelly stuffed french toast. AMAZING!!!!

Then we checked out and the front dest and maids surely were going to make sure we checked out on time with knocking and phone calls :(

Hotel Pros:
room service
location
AAA price
room
pool
gym

Hotel Cons:
Expensive valet only parking

Wasn't expecting much at all because 1. Its a hotel in a city 2. Not the most expensive compared to the rest 3. Its a suite with a small kitchen

Turned out I was pleasantly surprised that it wasnt too shabby!

Decor: The hotel does seemed half done. Reason being is that they have done some hip and trendy work with the lobby/reception, bar and restaurant but the lift is like from the 80s! As well as the hall way to the rooms, with rather crappy paint jobs and wall paper from the grannies, it was abit odd.

Rooms: Actually quite small for American Standards, but it was nice. The bed is big which fitted me, wife, a 2yrs old and an infant. 2 TVs, one is a 42inch plasma, but it was abit too close to the bed. The living room is alittle more spacious and good to have a small kitchen especially with kids!

Location: That's probably the best part of this hotel. Bascially close to everything.

Facilities: Nice roof top pool and a beautiful view of LA, as well as a tennis court as well!

Staff: Overall very helpful with restaurant suggestions etc., but I lost my luggage with BA from T5 and when I tried to tell the staff to look out for them on one day, the next shift didnt have a clue at all......

Overall not bad and does the job.

We were troubled to find out that instead of having 2 queen beds, our room had 2 twins and a pull-out couch. I'm not sure what an American hotel was thinking with 2 twins, but that's their style. The decor seemed like a cheap attempt at renovation. It was as if they thought sticking a 50-inch plasma screen in a cramped bedroom was good enough. The rooftop pool, I must say, was beautiful. Location is okay, but getting around LA is always tough.

Also, they advertise having kitchenettes, but to get any silverware/dishes, you have to call room service.

I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I wanted to let people know how great this place is! I used TripAdvisor in selecting the property so figured it was only fair to comment on my trip after we got back.

We had a junior suite with a queen bed. It was absolutely beautiful! Very spacious with a lot of "extra amenities" like an mp3 player, boombox, one-touch fireplace.

The staff was very friendly. The room service was phenomenal and didn't take forever to arrive. I highly recommend the Peanut Butter and Jelly Stuffed French Toast--delicious!

When we first checked in, the hotel lobby had a wonderful aroma as tea light candles were placed all over.

It was a wonderful location too...only two short blocks to the Sunset Strip. We walked almost every where we went and for the times that we needed to take a cab, the ride was under 10 minutes.

We will definitely stay at the Le Montrose whenever we go back to L.A. All-around a wonderful property!

  • Liked — Spacious Rooms
  • Disliked — Queen bed instead of all kings....but even that was okay!!! :)
