The room my husband and I were given--no kidding-- had bloody handprints on the wall and door. We immediately asked to be switched to a different room. The new room was not much better. Old dirty carpet, old bedspreads... just a trashy place. I would not recommend this hotel for business persons, families or anyone who values a clean comfortable room. This is not your typical Hyatt.

The Hyatt West Hollywood hotel has a great location you just can't beat it if you want to be on Sunset Boulevard, near restaurants, shopping, and night life. The hotel has CHI Restaurant and the food is really great. There is also a gym and a computer for use by hotel patrons. If you are into walking a bit you can walk to the Beverly Centre, Santa Monica Boulevard, and Beverly Hills if not rent a car and you'll be a short distance from everything. There are a few minor problems with the hotel first the hotel is not new so don't be surprised, the rooms are not that big unless you get a suite or a room with double beds, and there are not a lot of amenities, but other than that the location, rate, and service can't be beat especially if you have a government/military id or use AAA.

I booked one night at the Hyatt for a very reasonable rate online. When I got there and requested a room an an upper floor they gave me one on the PENTHOUSE floor, facing the hill. Very nice! I never heard anything from another room or the street while I was there. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly and took care of any requests promptly. Beautiful pool on the roof, very refreshing. I unfortunately moved to the Best Western across the street since it got better reviews, and was disappointed. Although the room there was bigger, everything else was not comprable to what I found at the Hyatt. I would choose the Hyatt anyday, especially with the great deals you can find online! And the location is excellent.

“Shabby and Loud!”

I lived in LA for 8 years and hesitated at staying on the Strip. However, I wanted the Hyatt points and the location was convenient for access to the 101 freeway, where I would need to go every day for work. My family had stayed across the street at the Best Western Sunset Plaza which has nice, renovated rooms and is pretty quite.

Well, the only saving grace of the Hyatt was the friendly staff. Other than that, spend your money somewhere else. First, I asked for a room in the back of the hotel because when I arrived at midnight after my flight from New York on a Monday night there was a raging party going on in the new "trendy" restaurant/bar in the Hyatt. I couldn't even pull in to park my car because there were so many party goers and there cars outside. Not a good welcome after flying for 6 hours and when you feel like its 3am. I just wanted to give the car to the valet and go to sleep.

I asked for a room in the back of the hotel, but was given one on the side where I could here all the street noise (I thought the windows were open but they weren't) as well as the thumping bass from the party despite the fact I was on the 8th floor. I called and was moved to a room in the back of the hotel on the 14th floor which was much quieter.

As for the rooms, they were adequate to shabby. Everything was very gray in the rooms and old looking. I could fell the springs in both beds I had. The feeling I got was this hotel was past its prime and the rooms in need of an updating and some new beds.

The club turned out to be a problem other nights as well. One night I returned to the hotel and tried to get in the elevator to find a drunk girl puking in the elevator. Not nice.

Anyway, I moved to the Park Hyatt in Century City. It turned out to be only $25 more a night and so much nicer. Run to the Park Hyatt and avoid the Hyatt West Hollywood unless you want that "party scene."

“Treated great! Perfect location to see LA!!”

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt-West Hollywood during the week of April 9 -16. We were first given a room with two full sized beds which were too small for us do to the fact we sleep in a king size bed at home. But with a call to the front desk they were happy to accomadate us and even place all our of belongings in a new room with a king size bed without us being there. If you are not accostumed to street traffic, I would advise everyone to take a room on a higher floor or a room looking over the hills. It gets quite noisey in the morning and at night during the weekend. The roof top pool is beautiful and great views from all angles. If you plan to eat at Justine Timberlake's resturant, Chi, plan to eat during weekdays. It seems they love to throw up the velvet rope even if you are a guest. The Saddle Ranch resturant next door was great and treated us to a awesome meal. You can get into the Comedy Store next door for free with your room key. Parking is a hassle in LA is very hard so I was forced to valet the car everyday for $23, but even though it was not cheap, it was worth every penny, the guys downstairs had my car ready every time I called for it. Overall, the hotel was nice and the clean and the employees were all helpful. I would stay there again if I were in LA again. Hope this helps.
