I want to let the world know.... that this hotel was off the charts! From our arrival to our departure this place knew how to treat us. I'll start by pointing out the hotel staff... every morning my boyfriend and I got "good mornings" from everyone that worked at this hotel. They have a continental breakfast in their gorgeous hospitality room. The bagels and fruit really tasted fresh and yummy.
Our first day here we really didnt know what we wanted to see first. So we asked the front desk staff and they were more then willing to give us a map and showing us all the great places to visit. For dinner they also called and made us dinner reservations at an amazing restaurant. I never realized how helpful a front desk staff could be.
Our room was amazing... not your typical best western. Our room had a PLASMA T.V with all the cool premiun channels like HBO, SHOWTIME, TMC, etc. My boyfriend was really excited that he was able to watch his boxing fight, and we didnt have to go out and pay to watch it. This was a plus, plus. ;)
During the afternoon after looking at the local attractions we were able to relax by the pool, let me tell you..... it was simply heaven.
Over all our stay here was AWESOME. I am already planning our return.
When you make your reservation make sure you request a room overlooking their pool, but I m sure all their rooms are amazing.... the rates were perfect, the staff was great, the rooms soooo comfortable, and the pool was breath taking.
Sunset Plaza Hotel is a HIDDEN GEM!!!!!!

Truly enjoyed walking around on sunset strip since our hotel was next to almost all the famous hollywood events. My colledge teenagers enjoys the clubbing scene next door even more than us!!!

Our suite was fantastic and even got a nice discount on our room with the swimmming pool view.

Nice and hip clubs right next door helped my popularity with our kids :)

We definately recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a bargain and a big bang for the buck

The beautiful courtyard with the pool and the elegant old world architecture draped with gorgeous flowers hanging from the balconies made you feel like you were on vacation somewhere in Europe. We spent most of our time by the pool enjoying the sun and reading books. The chaise lounges were quite comfortable and the pool was heated to the perfect temperature.

Our room was very spacious and the king sized bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was also very spacious and elegant. The staff were all very cordial and very helpful. The "free breakfast" was somewhat of a disappointment but it was probably due to our false expectations. I would recommend the hotel advertise the breakfast for what it is, a "continental breakfast" with pastries, cereal, juice, and coffee. I noticed that several other guests were disappointed when they discovered that the breakfast was not what they were expecting. The breakfast was quite good and served our needs. The hotel would be well advised to better manage guest expectations regarding the "free breakfast".

The Sunset Plaza Hotel has become our first choice of hotels in the area and whenever we return we will stay there again. We enthusiastically look forward to our next stay.

My friend and I stayed at the Best Western Sunset Plaza for three nights during our trip to Los Angeles in mid-May, 2009. Thought this hotel was great! I'm very pleased and definitely would go back! Location is tough in LA because everything's so spread out. You'd definitely have to have a car to get around. The last time I was in LA was with my family about 9 years ago so I didn't know where to begin when picking a hotel for this trip for just my friend and I! I checked out a bunch of places and chose Best Western because they are generally nice hotels. This place was a gem!

Like everyone else, I spent a lot of time reading the reviews and of course didn't know what to expect until we got there. I was pleasantly surprised!! Our room was really nice, very clean! Really nice big flat screen TVs (Sometimes you can tell how nice a hotel is by the TV's in the rooms!). The pool area was beautiful. The breakfast buffet was great - such a nice selection of food, cute little dining area and not to mention breakfast was free! The parking garage was convenient and always had open spaces. It was awesome..we returned to the hotel each night and always had a spots to choose from.

I only have a few comments about this hotel --- first is that I didn't find the front desk staff to be particularly helpful on our first day. I was asking for suggestions on how to get somewhere on foot and he kind of just shrugged and said it would take a half hour to walk it. I was showing him my map, trying to get my bearings of what part of Sunset we were on - hoping he'd help me out....!! My friend and I decided to just start walking and actually went into H&M (a clothing store) down the street on Sunset Blvd and asked the sales associates for direction help! They were really helpful and got us going in the right direction!!! :) All other times the front desk staff was fine!!

My other comment is that the shower head in our bathroom was never fixed over the three days that we were there. The pressure on the shower head was really low so it was coming out half as strong as it usually does. I told the front desk about it once and she was going to send someone. We decided to stay in the room that night so told them to wait to come and hopefully someone could take a look when we left the room the next morning. She said she'd send someone when and it still wasn't fixed when we got back the 2nd night! By day 3 it was pointless. The shower pressure wasn't terrible - it just wasn't normal. It wasn't a huge deal, just a comment.

As far as location, this wasn't as much of a touristy area. I felt like people were staring at us when I pulled my camera out to take some pictures. I didn't find the area to be too busy during the day or too touristy. I was hoping for a little more activity during the day.

Other than that, we had an overall very positive experience here and I would go back!! I hope this review helps you!
