Oh my goodness, the Best Western Sunset Plaza had one of the most comfortable beds ever! This was a nice, clean and comfortable hotel. I was worried about the parking at first when I saw that the lots weren't that big, but we never had a problem finding a space no matter what time it was. This hotel had a pretty decent exercise room. My only complaint was that there was no air! We left the door to the exercise room open as well as the door to the balcony open in order to feel some type of breeze. We didn't experience any problems with noise. Our room was facing the House of Blues. I would definitely stay here again.

From our experience at staying at this hotel, it was overpriced. The hotel looks great, that is undeniable. The room was nicely decorated, the bed very comfortable, and the newspaper was there early every morning. The maids were friendly and helpful.

For a complimentary breakfast it was good. Bagels, with cream cheese, or jams and butter, pastries, doughnuts, french bread, cheese, eggs, juice, coffee, tea, cereal, and fruit. excellent. also, you can use the interent in the dining room for 10 mins free.

however, here are the problems which left me feeling frustrated. the rooms have no double glazing. so even though we were at the side of the building we could hear road traffic noise. we then moved and had a room facing onto the pool. great. it looked beautiful, but it was spring break and people sat out all night using the patio furniture in front of our room drinking and making so much noise. the rooms are extremely poorly sound proofed and we could hear loud televisions from upstairs and next door. also one night there was a very loud fan noise, which when we asked why it sounded like an airplane was in our room we were told it was the fan function from another room and could not be stopped!!

reception responded to all our requests, but they were not friendly or pleasant about it, except for one lady who was very smiley and nice.

overall, i felt that for paying over $200 a night (including taxes) i should not have to put up with loud people outside my room, noise from fans and other people's tv's, and have to wear ear plugs.

on the plus side it is safe and looks nice.

  • Liked — safe, good breakfast.
  • Disliked — poor sound proofing meant we had to wear ear plugs.

Stayed for 4 nights with my partner and teenage son. We had a room on 3rd floor which was quite spacious-2 Queen size beds, kitchenette, decent size bathroom.
We liked the location and the hotel looks very welcoming on arrival -pleasant from the outside and welcoming lounge area (although I didnt find the reception staff particularly helpful or friendly!)
Parking at 12 dollars per day was reasonable , the parking area was very accessible and we never had a problem finding a space.

Plenty of choice at breakfast -cereal, eggs, fresh fruit, pastries, breads, juice, tea and coffee-but dislike the disposable cutlery/crockery culture which seems common in US hotels.

Would recommend to others wanting a reasonably priced hotel in a good location

I have to say that my stay at the Best Western Sunset Plaza Hotel this past weekend was absolutely amazing. We stayed in a beautiful suite that included an oversized jacuzzi. (my children loved the amount of buubles produced) The courtyard has a beautiful pool and flowers blooming everywhere. The front desk staff was very friendly and courteous. Our stay included a yummy continental breakfast in a beautiful setting. This hotel is GREAT for families, GREAT for tourists and GREAT for business travelers. My room was quiet and I was NEVER disturbed by housekeeping, noise from rooms above or the room next door. ( A PLUS WHEN YOU HAVE AN INFANT AND TODDLERS) My room included a little kitchen with microwave, stove top, and fridge. The rom was BEAUTIFUL and I was told that the hotel had just under went a multi million dollar renovation. AND IT SHOWS!

  • Liked — Great staff, beautiful spacious room
  • Disliked — We had to check out!

We stayed here for 6 days while I had testing at Cedars Sinai and had the most wonderful time. Check-in went smoothly and we were even upgraded to a corner suite with balcony for our entire stay. Our room was very clean with a large whirlpool soaker tub and separate glass walled shower. Beds were 2 queens and were very comfy with several pillows and a white duvet encased down comforter. We had a desk plus sitting area as well as mini fridge and microwave. The local newspaper was outside our door every morning and the housekeeping staff were very kind and polite. They never even tapped on the door until about 11 am which is nice if you like to sleep in.Our room was on the third floor facing the street behind the hotel and we slept with the windows open every night and were never bothered by too much street noise. The views were so pretty off the balcony, especially at night. Breakfast was plentiful with danish, croissants, doughnuts, mini baguettes, cheese and hard boiled eggs etc.. There was 3 kinds of juice plus coffee, milk and tea. The coffee and tea are available 24 hours a day as well. There is a computer available for guest use though it has a 10 minute limit but that was plenty of time to check email or look for a restaurant. Parking is in back of the hotel($12 a day) and is a bit of a close fit if you rent or are driving a big car or suv but we were fine with our compact. The front desk was very helpful and gave us a free printed out map of the area. The lobby was warm and inviting with a fire going in the fireplace and a bowl of fruit out in case you needed something to munch on. The pool area is flower filled and gorgeous. The pool looked clean and nice sized even though we didn't use it.Check out was quick and easy with no surprise charges.I would definately stay here again the next time we are in L.A.

  • Liked — Safe, comfortable place to stay in a great central location , Friendly helpful staff.
  • Disliked — Nothing, everything was great.
