I have to say that my stay at the Best Western Sunset Plaza Hotel this past weekend was absolutely amazing. We stayed in a beautiful suite that included an oversized jacuzzi. (my children loved the amount of buubles produced) The courtyard has a beautiful pool and flowers blooming everywhere. The front desk staff was very friendly and courteous. Our stay included a yummy continental breakfast in a beautiful setting. This hotel is GREAT for families, GREAT for tourists and GREAT for business travelers. My room was quiet and I was NEVER disturbed by housekeeping, noise from rooms above or the room next door. ( A PLUS WHEN YOU HAVE AN INFANT AND TODDLERS) My room included a little kitchen with microwave, stove top, and fridge. The rom was BEAUTIFUL and I was told that the hotel had just under went a multi million dollar renovation. AND IT SHOWS!

  • Liked — Great staff, beautiful spacious room

We stayed here for 6 days while I had testing at Cedars Sinai and had the most wonderful time. Check-in went smoothly and we were even upgraded to a corner suite with balcony for our entire stay. Our room was very clean with a large whirlpool soaker tub and separate glass walled shower. Beds were 2 queens and were very comfy with several pillows and a white duvet encased down comforter. We had a desk plus sitting area as well as mini fridge and microwave. The local newspaper was outside our door every morning and the housekeeping staff were very kind and polite. They never even tapped on the door until about 11 am which is nice if you like to sleep in.Our room was on the third floor facing the street behind the hotel and we slept with the windows open every night and were never bothered by too much street noise. The views were so pretty off the balcony, especially at night. Breakfast was plentiful with danish, croissants, doughnuts, mini baguettes, cheese and hard boiled eggs etc.. There was 3 kinds of juice plus coffee, milk and tea. The coffee and tea are available 24 hours a day as well. There is a computer available for guest use though it has a 10 minute limit but that was plenty of time to check email or look for a restaurant. Parking is in back of the hotel($12 a day) and is a bit of a close fit if you rent or are driving a big car or suv but we were fine with our compact. The front desk was very helpful and gave us a free printed out map of the area. The lobby was warm and inviting with a fire going in the fireplace and a bowl of fruit out in case you needed something to munch on. The pool area is flower filled and gorgeous. The pool looked clean and nice sized even though we didn't use it.Check out was quick and easy with no surprise charges.I would definately stay here again the next time we are in L.A.

I almost didn't book this hotel because they never responded to my emails. Because of the good reviews we booked a suite anyway. The hotel is nicely decorated, beds are comfortable and the courtyard is pretty. Be aware that many of the rooms look out at the buildings next door, and we were told at check in that none of the suites has a view.

In our experience at the hotel the staff was not friendly. (except with each other) It was also strange to have a kitchenette equipped only with plastic and styrafoam cups.

For the price, I don't think we would go back.

We have just returned from a week at the Sunset Plaza Best Western. Located on Sunset Boulevard, it was a beautiful hotel. The staff provided good service, and the complimentary breakfast was more than adequate (hard boiled eggs, cheese, pastries, fruit, cereal, juice, milk, coffee). We had requested a room that opened on to the pool area, and were very glad we had. French doors open directly to the pool area, which is in the hotel courtyard. Flowers everywhere! It smelled heavenly, and was truly a sight to wake up to every morning. I would definitely request a room on the inside of the hotel. The outer rooms faced Sunset Blvd, which was never quiet. The hotel also has secure underground parking for $12/day, with direct access to the hotel. The rooms are clean and good-sized. We had two queen beds, a large bathroom (very important with four women sharing one room!), a table and 4 chairs, and a small kitchenette (microwave, refrig, sink, 2 burner cook top). No utensils or plates were provided, though. Although their is no onsite restaurant, there are many excellent places to eat within walking distance, including a great chop house across the street, and The House of Blues next door. I would stay here again! It's a great value!

Stayed for 3 nights. We had a suite, facing the pool. The room was very spacious and quiet. There was a separate bedroom and large living room area including a small kitchen. The free internet access was a real plus.

The free breakfast was adequate but not great. At least there was some protein the form of hard-boiled eggs and cheese. The rest was bagels, muffins, cereal, etc. The bagels were nice and fresh.

The location was very good for us, as it was near our daughter (whom we were visiting) We didn't really take in any nightlife on "the
strip". We weren't bothered at all by noise.

If I had to give any negative, it would be that the decor was a bit shabby. The room was clean, though.

This will definitely be our place to stay in L.A. from now on.
