Description: Koi Los Angeles is a sophisticated blend of feng shui and modern elegance. Illuminated by candlelight, the natural and intricate details of the restaurant create an elegant dining atmosphere, while the Zen inspired design of earth-toned colors, sleek design, fireplaces and waterscapes all create a stunning atmosphere of harmony by combining subtly luxurious materials with nature’s elements of water, air, fire and light. At Koi, chefs deconstruct traditional Japanese preparations and respectfully re-imagine them, by infusing modern California accents. Sushi chefs and the kitchen staff derive their inspiration from each other resulting in creations like the signature Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, an addictive version of the classic spicy tuna roll, featuring warm grilled rice topped with a thick layer of cool, savory tuna); the Baked Crab Roll, for which succulent fresh crabmeat is wrapped in a thin rice crepe paper dotted with sesame seeds and baked to perfection.

“Not up there with the best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

I had a nice meal at the Koi tonight. But it is no place special. You can't go there for "the view" because they don't have it, so you say it must be the food.
But the food is mediocre. Creamy shrimp tempura was ok, but nowhere near as good as some of its rivals,
Sushi in general lacked taste. Everything was ok, but nothing was extraordinary.
Overall it is a place you can go have fun for a night out, just dont expect amazing food.

“Delicious sushi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

We had a wonderful sushi dinner at Koi. The waiter was very helpful in describing specialties. We particularly loved the sticky rice combination we tried, but really, we liked everything. Pricey, but it was our only evening out during a week-end of family events, and it was a perfect choice.

“Good restaurant not the Best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

We loved the design of this restaurant as it looks like an oasis in the middle of LA..Great atmosphere but a little bit too dark we had to read the menu with our I phones...
Food was OK but nothing to remember particularly. This is more expensive but not as good as Katana...
Go if you have a business dinner...

“The best food ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

I have never ever had a better meal. The fried rice and the truffet carpachio is like heaven. God service like most places in LA.

“Restaurant Week”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

We went during restaurant week-price fix for $35 app, entree, dessert. GREAT PRICE! Serving size was perfect for one. Food was seasoned well and brought to the table as ready so all people do not get served at once. Albacore with fried onions-delish, sea bass yummy and strawberry tiramusi great way to end. Also tried crispy rice with tuna, skitr steak and chocolate molten cake. All wre yummy!! No dissappointments from the table. Wish I could have had more of the tuna app and molten cake but I was full!
Also had a drink Koi L'Orange was soo good and if not so pricey would've had another.
