My best friend and I stayed here after a long struggle about where to stay. It was just us two girls so we were concerend about safety as well. We were so glad we made this choice! It was just the two of us and we had planned to "live-it up" while in LA and this location made it possible. The nightlife on the Sunset Strip is unlike anything I've ever experienced and The Grafton is right next door to the swankiest of them all... SkyBar. If we could have afforded it, we would've stayed at the Mondrian or The Standard but the Grafton was definitely a good choice.

Our room was nice and clean. The hotel staff was friendly and the valet staff was incredible. We loved the free iced tea and the pool is absolutely gorgeous!

The only complaint (very minor) was that the exhaust system in the bathroom didn't seem to work very well. It was other that or the condensation from the air conditioner. But we never complained about it so that was our fault.

All-in-all, this was the best vacation I've ever been on and would definitely stay at The Grafton again. Great value, great location, and MANY celebrity sightings! Cortney Cox Arquette and david Arquette ate at the Boa one night while we were there!!!!

I wish I could write a review of this hotel.
We had a room booked for Friday and Saturday night. We realized that we were not going to be able to check in until Saturday morning. Called the hotel to let them know, they said that it would be fine if we didn't check in until the next day. Called Saturday morning to confirm that our room would be ready, only to find out that hey cancelled our room. Not only did they cancel our room after saying that they would hold it, but they wanted to charge us not only for Friday night (which was understandable) but also for Saturday!! After taking to the manager they finally agreed not to charge for Saturday night. Needless to say we wont be staying at the Grafton any time soon. A motel 6 would probably be more accommodating!!!!

Its a hotel in the Sunset Strip and it has a popular bar and restaurant. OF COURSE its going to be noisy. With that in mind, I requested a Quiet room for our 90 day stay during the E3 tradeshow in mid May. The reviews, as always at Tripadvisor are very varied.

For me, I needed a hotel which had a good location, nice rooms, wifi and everything relatively close. The super fast wifi in our room exceeded our expectations and it was only 3,50$ a day which is really cheap. We got room on floor 1, which is the ground floor. Lobby, club and restaurant are on floor 3. So we had no noise in our room at all, even though the wall from our window basically was a part of the Mondrian which has the Sky Bar. We heard a little of the music on a Saturday night if the window was open.

The rooms are refreshingly nice and comfy and the big closet was a big help as we were three people with lots of luggage, which we were able to fit into the big walk in close. Also the first floor had coffee and tea in the mornings for free and the pool area, while very small, is really nice.

So, considering we were at the Grafton for bussiness, it worked out great. Valet was fast, we talked to the staff of the hotel twice, once when checking in and when checking out. Checking out went fine and the staff was friendly.

The only bad thing? on Friday night we wanted to go to the bar, but since it was three guys the bouncer gave as the usual runaround that it we needed to have some girls with us, even though were guests of the hotel for a over a week. Oh well. At least they try to maintain a good clientele.

Good hotel, nice location and amenities but a bit pricey it has to be said. A coffee on the poolside was 4 dollars, 3 dollars for service, then tax and tip.

This hotel is the worst. Right now, I'm in room 316 and it's 12:30am. The room is right near the restaurant/lobby and the DJ is blasting the Pussy Cat Dolls. I called the front desk and they sent me a pair of earplugs. The guy working the front desk told me they can't turn down the music because it's part of the "hotel experience". Well, if the experience is to give their guests lousy service, mission accomplished. There are many other great hotel options in LA. Don't waste your time with the Grafton on Sunset.

The location is great, and the pool area is promising, but that's really all. Stay way from this overpriced hotel.

First of all, when I first arrived, they did NOT have my reservation at the corrcet day, even as my travel agency had a confirmation number and they stated they couldn't help me. Called my travel agency, I am a business traveler, and they called the hotel and resolved the issue. So, I got a room. There suddenly was one available!?

The bar is nice, good looking people that visit. The bar tenders are just not even close to professional. After two drinks and an running tab, you think they remember your last or first name (or have some kind of system to feel like they remember you) as I was sitting at the bar itself. But none of that, even that I ordered from the same girl, had to state my name over and over.

After I left for a walk on Sunset Blvd, I returned to my room. Now my key was suddenly not working any longer. As it was 2 in the morning, I had to return to registration desk. Person was just rude and I got in a discussion why my key was even not working. Even that I had my old key, they wanted again my drivers license and credit card, which just added heat to the discussion as I am not willing to give all my information again to the,. I had a room, with my stuff in the room, a key that was not working, and personnel that was rude. There was no reasonable level of service. At least, I will not stay at this hotel any longer! And even when I return to L.A., will stay away from this place.
