We chose this hotel as it looked swanky and a lot different from the first part of our trip - Disneyland. We wanted to explore Hollywood area for a couple of days and go to Universal Studios so the location of this hotel was perfect. The lobby was fairly dark and there was some construction going on which began at 8am each morning. There is no self-parking and the valet parking was $30 per night although it was efficient. The cost of the breakfast was extraordinary with breakfast for 5 of us costing over $100 US and we only had a small amount of food (couple of rounds of toast, pot of coffee, 3 omelets and a bagel). There was no restaurant and only two tables on the deck to eat on. The rooms themselves were reasonably spacious with small bathrooms but they were clean and well kept - the beds were very comfortable.
There were lots of "extras" in the room but these had to be paid for so we removed these temptations from our children's room - there was even bottled oxygen for $65. The enlarged photos of semi-naked women on the hotel room walls was a conversation starter - particularly for our 12 year old boy who wanted the bed below the "boobs" although my teenage daughter felt they were a little inappropriate.
Overall, a good attempt at a swanky LA hotel but with overpriced amenities and only moderate service. I may stay there again but definitely not with children.

My friend and I were visitng LA for the first time, and just looking to get the "LA experience" one Friday night. We looked at several hotels online and decided to stay at The Grafton based on the location and trendy yet comfortable look and feel of the hotel. The rooms were great for two people and fully stocked with anything you may need, including plush robes ready for you in the walk in closet! The staff at the hotel was very accomodating and helpful. Everyone we encountered, including the bartender in the lounge to the hotel manager, would go out of their way to make sure your stay was great. The decor of the hotel was very unique as well. They have done a great job incorporating a sexy feel with old hollywood. Overall we had a great stay and a lot of fun, especially since you can't beat this location right on Sunset! It's perfect for anyone really looking to see and feel what LA is about.

Nothing really bad to complain about but the rooms were small, and I wouldnt stop there again

I booked the Grafton for myself and about 8 other people - a music group that was playing in the area. I've had several enjoyable stays at this hotel before, so I rolled the dice that everyone else would like it as much as I did . . . well, everyone had a terrific stay! The location is ideal for anyone wanting the "LA" experience, being right on Sunset Blvd: plenty of restaurants, clubs and hot spots all within walking distance. And the guests I booked loved the pool area - they hung out there a lot. The room I had was as clean and well-stocked as always, and the hotel even hunted up some toiletries I found myself in need of . . . The staff always has a warm greeting for you - and that includes housekeeping and maintenance. Finally, Alec in Sales even found a place for the band to park their bus, taking care of all the city permits and clearances. To sum up - The Grafton went out of their way to make our stay successful, and they will get my business in the future.
