Don't be fooled!
This hotel is a turkey pretending to be a peacock. While their publicity photos made this hotel look attractive and inviting, after settling into our room we discovered what it really is: a noisy & trendy establishment boldly operating out of a cheap, 1976 apartment building that was converted--apparently on a budget--to a hotel. Yes, the front desk staff is cheery and accommodating, and the decor is chic (the lobby is decorated in a swank, retro style and the spacious guest rooms are treated in a tasteful, sea-foam green decor). However, their efforts stopped there.
Our first night was completely unsettled by a late-night party on the first floor that finally subsided at about 5 am the next morning. Despite several calls to the night manager, he failed to stop the party. Again, a smaller party developed on the seventh (and last) day of our stay; but we managed to shake off the noise and get some sleep.
Our list of complaints goes on: True to 1970's construction standards, the walls are thin, the doors are flimsy and the windows are original vintage: dull-aluminum-framed, single-pane and broadcasting outdoor noise into your room. Like a prying neighbor, we learned the arrival and departure habits of surrounding guests by the slamming of their doors. Even in our late-spring visit, the wall air conditioning units failed to keep the rooms comfortable, dripped on the carpets, and, during yard maintenance, sucked ghastly volumes of leaf blower dust and exhaust into our room. The common hallways were stifling (as they were cooled by only one air conditioning unit) and the elevators were suffocating hot. Their supposedly high-speed internet access service was frequently overloaded. The electrical service surged--most noticeably at night when our dimmed bedroom lights would annoyingly flicker and then go out altogether. The battery to the bedroom's portable telephone was always running low. The room's cheap ironing board failed to firmly lock into position and collapsed under normal ironing pressure. And finally, their cleaning staff failed to properly rinse their glassware, leaving behind congealed dish soap that made for an unpleasant sudsy tonic.
The bathroom was a major disappointment with a total lack of comfort that you would normally expect out of luxury accommodations. It was plainly uninviting, with little effort made to update the apartment building's original appointments--outside of changing the flooring, faucets, towel-bars, etc. It became most apparent whenever we gazed down into the original vanity topped by a chipped and rusting sink, showered in the narrow stall enclosed by a corroded glass door, waded in dirty water due to a slow shower drain, or dealt with lingering odors and steam due to the absence of a modern ventilation system.
For the amount of money that you would spend at this glorified motel, you're better off exploring any number of alternate upscale hotels in the Los Angeles area.

Constructive feedback is always appreciated at any time. I am not 100% certain what was happening in the week that this guest stayed with us Eight months ago. We are not known for disruptive parties and gatherings, but they have been known to happen. When our efforts to stop those few guests who get carried away we do request the support of our local Sherrif. I certainly am sorry that this was not taken care of to this guests satisfaction.
The building itself was built in the 1970s and comes with some inherinant problems which may not be easily overlooked by some guests. We offer a superior location with very generous rooms, updated in a very elegant and tasteful manner. Our bathrooms are still waiting for their moment to shine, and the renovation of those should happen this year! We have less control over the power fluctuations which may have been occuring in the neighborhood, but have made substantial improvements to our emergency generator to insure that no one is left in the dark, and upgrade all public area AC to appropriate levels.
Chamberlain offers a terrific exclusive neighborhood experience in the center of West Hollywood. We are always eager to improve on our service and enhance our Hotel facility.
