My boyfriend and I stayed at the Chamberlain recently for 3 nights and loved it! The staff were very friendly although the valet parking was really expensive (approx $28 dollars per day). Our bedroom was fantastic, we had a super kingsize bed which was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in and the room was really spacious with the living area being on a seperate level. The balcony was small and there was no balcony furniture, not that we minded as we didnt have time to sit out there. The bathroom size was adequate, very clean and Molton Brown bath products which was a bonus! The food from room service was delicious although we never ate in the restaurant. The pool area is lovely, really comfortable beds and fluffy towels with excellent views of LA. Good drinks service up to the pool as well. The pool is small but its all you need as he hotel is only small. We quickly noticed the amount of gay men around the pool and around the West Hollywood area, lots of gay bars and restaurants near the hotel but sunset strip is so near that you have plenty of other options. The hotel itself is really hard to find. Ive stayed in the Sheraton in Santa Monica before and this hotel was 10 times better, better area as well. I would definately recommend this hotel, its small but beautiful!

  • Liked — The bed, the room & the pool!
  • Disliked — No balcony furiture

We stayed for a week in early June. Our second visit and it was even better than the first.

Highlights:

Rooftop pool with views, drink/food service and relaxing beds. Was even a pool party going on up there on one of the days - a great way to meet people.

Location just between Sunset & Santa Monica Blvds in a quiet residential street makes it a great place to enjoy the laid bask atmosphere of West Hollywood.

Very large rooms with modern decor and cool layout - elevated sleeping area, seating for 4, balcony, fireplace, very comfortable bed.

Polite and friendly service at the front desk and from all support staff. Little extras such as cold drinks on arrival & chocolates in the room with a note from the manager welcoming us back.

Free passes to Equinox fitness nearby.

Downsides:

Bathrooms need work. We've stayed in 3 different rooms and none of them had it quite right. The fittings seem old and mismatched. Some areas seem half renovated.

Although the rooms look great and the beds are very good. Some items aren't the best quality. Had some trouble opening and closing doors, the TV was a bit cheap looking to be on display.

Had a few problems with incorrect charges on the credit card before we arrived but these were promptly refunded and a complimentary breakfast provided as an apology.

I would like to have an ice-machine. It is awkward to have to call for ice every time you need it.

Overall I would definitely recommend it and we will be back!

  • Disliked — Bathroom, No ice machine

Converted from an apartment complex into a hotel - rooms are smallish, bathroom very small.

There is a pool on the roof - they painted the deck a dark color - it is so hot that no one can walk on it.

Hotel staff was very nice.

A very gay hotel - half-naked muscle men parading around in the elevators.

Stayed here for a week in June and found it very nice.I am not sure though if I would be willing to stay here again though for the same amount of money. Not quite sure what I expected, but I did expect more for $1700.The staff were very friendly and accomadating, the room absolutely spotless, and a bed that you just melted into.Hotel was nicely situated but after a day's sightseeing it was a bit of a pull on the old leg muscles on arriving home.

  • Liked — The overall cleanleness of the room and amenities.
  • Disliked — Whether it was value for money.

This was my second stay at this Hotel and it was even better than my previous stay.

The hotel is located in a nice leafy quiet street only 5 minutes from the Sunset Strip.

It is a lovely hotel and the room was great. Very comfortable bed and lots of living space. The bathroom wasn't huge but I would not call it small.

The rooftop pool is so relaxing. I ordered room service and lazed around the pool for an entire day.

The staff are friendly and accommodating. The boys in the bar are chatty which is great when you are travelling alone from another country. The front desk staff even assisted with my request for a late checkout even though they were full the next day.

There are some great bars located close by such as The Abbey. The cocktails there are excellent.

The locals in West Hollywood are all friendly.

I hope to return again next year.

Oh they also had a nice welcome back card and box of chocolates to thank me for returning. The turn down service is also great.
