“Nice family hotel. Great breakfast. Don't stay here for a romantic or quiet getaway.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Stayed here last night w my wife and 2 kids for a wedding. I'm a Marriott elite but chose this hotel because it obviously has larger rooms. Room was almost perfect for our family to spread out and get a good nights rest. It was really nice to have three sinks.

The breakfast is awesome. Hot and cold buffets and made to order omelettes. For a family of 4 this offset the ridiculous $18 forced valet parking fee by far. Also the free cocktail hour was nice (not just beer but a full bar service!)

The only issue we had was that the tiny pool was packed sat evening with about 40 very loud kids and only 3 adults present. After talking to one of the kids, I learned that a guest was having a birthday party and invited all these kids to enjoy the pool. This was unacceptable as the pool occupancy stated only 20 ppl and hot tub only 3ppl. I love kids but it was so loud and overpacked that we did not care to stay and enjoy this resource. If someone wants to have a pool party on the cheap, this is the wrong place to do it as it is a TINY little pool.

Also there is no pay per view movies. We were considering renting a family friendly movie but could not.

My advice is to remember that this is strictly a hotel for large groups and families, and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it for that purpose. Avoid if you are a business traveler or couple looking for a quiet evening.

Thank you for the review of our hotel. We were very glad that you and your family enjoyed the amenities our hotel has to offer. Our spacious suites are great for families as each suite has a separate bedroom and living room that is larger than the standard hotel room. Our complimentary breakfast and manager's reception save our guests from having to find a restaurant nearby to feed their families. We also sincerely apologize for the issue you experienced at the pool . We aim to ensure every guest has the best stay possible.

We hope to welcome you back in the near future.

The stay at Embassy was good. My family was able to use the pool, fitness area and dining facilities as they pleased and were able to sleep comfortably. It would have been nice to have a television menu/guide to help us find our favorite channels easier. Otherwise is was everything we like about staying at the Embassy Suites.

Easy access from the Bart and nice people. Before staying here I read reviews and was a little concerned. Bottom Line a long but easy ride from SFO on BarT. Be aware though if you are flying East on the weekend and need to get to the airport early the Bart starts late on the weekend, especially Sunday and you won't get there before 10 or 11AM.

I thought the staff was good and breakfast was great (good cooks on made to order omelet bar). furnishings on par with most Embassy Suites although not a lot of restaurant alternatives near the hotel. Lots of children enjoying them selves on the weekend and they were everywhere. We did ask for a room on the opposite side of the Bart and the room was fine (and quiet).

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the Bart.

Hello and thank you for your review! BART definitely is a great way to whisk you to San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland. BART schedules are easily obtained on-line as well as stocked at our front desk. When looking for an alternative dining experience, our shuttle can take you to downtown Walnut Creek where restaurants, upscale shopping and theaters abound.

We hope to welcome you back very soon!

Recently stayed at the Tampa Florida Embassy Suites Bay View Hotel. What a wonderful stay but not as friendly an atmosphere as the Embassy Suites Hotel Pleasant Hill-Walnut Creek. When I travel its so nice to meet new friendly faces. The bartender Loreal really made my visit to this Hotel exceptional, what a great friendly personality, I felt like I was at home with family and friends and not on some business trip. Its not always the accommodations its the staff !!

Stayed overnight at the ES in Pleasant HIll-Walnut Creek on Friday night before Easter. The hotel was busy but everyone from the valet and door man to the check in person, maids and bartenders were so kind and pleasant.
Three women stayed in a suite with 2 full sized beds and a fold down couch that was also a full. There was plenty of room for all of us. We enjoyed the cocktail reception in the evening and took a cab to downtown Walnut Creek for dinner.
Our made to order morning breakfast was also quite good and there was plenty of food and Starbucks coffee too.
One perk is that this ES is very near the Pleasant Hill BART Station. Extremely convenient for taking BART into the City or to a Giant's game.
We plan to stay here again!

Room Tip: Don't stay on the top floor - 8th, there is additional noise due to the the air conditioning uni...

Thank you for the great review of our hotel! We are so delighted that your stay was excellent. Our spacious suites are perfect for families or that single traveler who needs to spread out and relax. Our Manager's Reception, with 2 hours of complimentary cocktails, appetizers, beer, wine and soft drinks, is a perfect way to unwind after a busy day of work or sightseeing. The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is truly the best way to travel to San Francisco or Oakland to see our local teams play a home game.

Please come back and visit us again!

As a current Hilton Honors member, I have stayed at many Embassy Suites, and I would rank this particular site in the first quartile. I love traveling to the Bay Area but do not love dealing with their traffic. Since I tend to visit attractions outside of downtown, it makes more sense to stay outside of San Francisco. This Walnut Creek location has great freeway and highway access (680 / 24 / 4) and is a 30 minute commute to Fisherman's Wharf (obviously not during rush hour). The hotel itself is a typical Embassy Suites with semi-dated decor, spacious rooms and a daily continental breakfast. The center of the hotel is open all the way to a glass ceiling that allows natural light to shine through however it also uncomfortably warms up the uppermost floors. The staff I have directly interfaced with have always been courteous even as they are bombarded with guests coming in and out during the weekend. The parking is mandatory valet ($18/night) and the valets do a good job keeping the cars and guests flowing so the porte cochere does not get backed up with traffic. I have noticed, however, that the staff has a difficult time keeping up with the sheer volume of guests that flood the dining area during the weekend breakfasts. Many of the popular food dishes (eggs, potatoes, etc) or table items (plates, cups, spoons) sit empty for periods of time and the cooked-to-order line often stretches around the corner outside of the dining area. I don't know if they staff-up on the weekends but I can tell they try their best to keep the guests happy. I recommend this Embassy Suites and will definitely visit here again.

Room Tip: The 8th floor was warmer than the lower floors but offers the quietest location.

Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. We are so glad you enjoyed all that the Embassy Suites Walnut Creek has to offer and our great staff. We do appreciate your comments on the volume of guests on the weekends and we share these comments with our managers and staff. In order to avoid the traffic, our Bay Area Rapid Transit trains are the best way to commute to San Francisco to visit it's many tourist attractions or to see the Giants or A's play a home game. Please come back and visit us soon!

From valet to the sales manager the staff at this hotel make the stay an excellent experience. Made to order omlets and the night reception which are signature for most embassy suites are even a step above due to the wonderful staff. We were here for business but I would recommend it as the place to stay anytime visiting the Walnut Creek area.
